Proudly Cycling Merits for Foxpup
Hey BAC, what would it take for you to list Curecoin?  Right now it is (in my humble opinion) an extremely underrated coin, given that there are probably 20k+ people earning it through the Folding@Home project.  And if you look on their list of exchanges, all of them are either defunct or scam exchanges except for Bittrex and one that DaveF just got it listed on (shorelinecrypto).  It really needs to trade on more exchanges than it does.

Just wondering.  And also, the two stickers I plastered onto lamp posts nearby my residence have held up through rain and snow so far.  I'll keep stickering once the weather warms up and I can get out on my bike.

Thanks for the response!

You're welcome and Merry Christmas!

I was also wondering - since CLAM volumes & orderbook depths are somewhat low, would it make sense for "whales" to use the swap function?

Nooooooooo!!!  Swap is more risky for Whales than it is for small traders... I strongly recommend big traders directly use XChange.  (Cheaper and safer for large traders... I'll explain why shortly)

Swap is just a glorified market order tool for XChange.  Thus, that same liquidity is going to apply to your trade.

How exactly does it work? Does it give convert your coins based on a flat fee + market rates for any amount, or is it simply automating market orders and thus subject to the same orderbook limitations as the spot CLAM market?

If you send Swap 500 CLAMS, Swap waits for the transaction to confirm, and then Swap makes a market trade of those 500 CLAMS.  That basically means those CLAMS are going to be sold for the best price right away... whatever the best "Bid" is... they are going to get the CLAMS.

The Bitcoins are then withdrawn to the customer's desired Swap address.  The miner fee is deducted from the total.

So, XChange charges a flat miner fee (0.0004 BTC) and Swap only charges the exact miner fee (it's deducted at the end).  It usually makes more sense for small traders to use Swap than it does for them to use XChange.

Swap charges 1% + all XChange fees + real miner fee.

XChange charges 0.2% + flat miner fee.

RIP though, I remember the days of CLAM on polo where there seemed to be infinite liquidity Cry

Life is better than it seems for CLAMS I swear haha Tongue

My recommendation is using a "Limit order" on the XChange books!  Name your own price and wait for someone to swallow it up.

I've sold hundreds of thousands of CLAMS over the years and truthfully, I've been amazed at how fast my CLAMS get swallowed up on FreeBitcoins whenever I name a price that someone else thinks is reasonable!

I understand the desire to be able to go "in and out" near-instantly though without waiting to match your order with someone.  We are working on it!!! Tongue

Hey BAC, I've been away from the JD scene for a while now so kind of out of the loop.

Is XChange now the only legitimate market of CLAM apart from yobit which I think had been under maintenance since eternity? Or are there still operational markets that aren't listed on CMC run by CLAM enthusiasts?

Sorry for the q and thanks in advance Cheesy

Hey mag,

I'm happy to answer your question!  No need to appoglize.

You're right about yobit, there stuff has been on maintenance for eternity.  Do not use Yobit.

FreeBitcoins.com (XChange) is owned by Xploited (CLAM creator) and myself.... so in my eyes it's the most "legit" CLAM market available. Swap" which is another FreeBitcoins.com service that uses the XChange books, but doesn't require any registration.

There is also a CLAM market on btcpop.co... however, I heard one of their employees ran off with some Bitcoin or something.  You also have to create an account to see any market details and such... but I've used it and it did work.

Let me know if you have any other questions and merry Christmas!

Shit,  I forgot: https://freiexchange.com/market/CLAM/BTC

I've used them before too.

No bad news with frei that I've heard of... but still, I strongly believe XChange is a much better/qualified exchange CLAM wise.

We are lowering the Bitcoin withdrawal fee on XChange to 0.0004 (down from 0.0005).

Swap still only charges exactly what the miner fee is.

Merry Christmas!

We need people willing to sell all coins, but we especially need folks willing to sell DOGECOIN.

Someone on our market has been buying them like crazy.  Our price jumped to 59sats this past week.

Trade fees are 0.2% again.  We also update our fee system to be smarter... that was a big reason we made trading free for a month.  It gave us plenty of time to "fix" something I didn't like about microtrades.

We made a small change in micro-trades.  If the trade is under 250 satoshis, the "Taker" is charged 1 Satoshi and the Maker pays no fees.  Trades between 250-500 sats both sides are charged 1 Satoshi.  Affiliates are paid 50% of the trade for all trade higher than 500 satoshis and higher.

This now protects our larger traders that have orders in the books.

Just checking in:

I hold a swag of 'QRL.' Very together characters. Someone mentioned them wanting a faucet. So I have contacted BAC about the chance of a listing, therefore faucet.

EDIT: we're certainly up for a new exchange listing

Reading a bit more into it.

Someone sold 3.55 LTC for less than 0.0001 BTC this morning...

Wow, why someone would do that? i would think it was a mistake, but if the user didn't complain then there is not much to do...

I will leave some buy orders for cheap coins, if a users already hit this bait maybe they do it again in the future  Tongue

People learning what "market" orders are I think... poor bastards.

We had another person do this with Bitcoin SV the other day. lol, I tried to explain what a limit order was to them in chat, but I feel like it fell on deaf ears.

IN OTHER NEWS:

Bitcoin withdraw fees have returned to 0.0005.  Thank you

We have updated our system to be much smarter to prevent problems when Bitcoin is being artificially spammed.
