EDIT: Hmm maybe not. I am missing 1000 FairCoins + a mint seems stuck unconfirmed in the Transaction List.
Nothing listed in Stake or Unconfirmed. I remember I closed it when a mint was pending.

could repair it. Here is what i have done (for the case other hits the same problems)

1) in transaction right click clear oprphans
2) help->debug->console enter repairwallet

if you see something like this:
{
"mismatched spent coins" : 1,
"amount affected by repair" : 1028.08000000
}

then 3) close wallet and reopen and  the missing coins should be back.

Great!

Anyway this was explained already in the Thomas statement

Recommended FairCoin wallet update v1.5.1
2. The wallet complains about a corrupted database found and advises you to delete the directory 'txleveldb' and rename the file 'blk0001.dat' to 'bootstrap.dat' in the FairCoin data directory. Please follow the instructions. Upon restart of the wallet it will then re-load the block chain from the file 'bootstrap.dat' and rebuild the index. Do not interrupt this process. It will take about 10-20 min. depending on your hardware.

Hmm. I think it's simpler to just delete everything except the

wallet.dat and the peers.dat and the Faircoin.conf  (or .info) if you have one.

Is there anything that speaks against doing that?

I just did that after my wallet complained and it seems fine. Although now it seems to open a lot faster than before.

Recommended FairCoin wallet update v1.5.1

Hi,

we have been receiving some reports from users about their wallets not synchronizing to the network. I had been looking into this for the last 3 days to find out what causes the odd behaviour.

My analysis revealed that the block index database got corrupted. It was very hard to track down the problem because it has to do with concurrent block processing in the wallet.

Anyway, I am very confident that the changes I made to the code base fix the problem and all wallets will synchronize again without any problems.

Therefore I complied a new FairCoin wallet release v1.5.1. All users of FairCoin are advised to upgrade to the latest version now. We consider this a critical bug because the impact on the block chain is rather unpredictable, so please install the latest release which is available here: http://fair-coin.org/#wallet

After the upgrade one of two things can happen:

1. The wallet starts normal without any problem. Your block chain database was intact. No user action required.

Please note that the database corruption only affects the block chain index data not the wallet.dat file which contains your FairCoins. Your coins are and were safe!

This is not a mandatory update but it is highly recommended to upgrade as soon as possible because you never know if you wallet is affected. In case your wallet does not display the right balance follow the step described here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10833187

Thanks to Mario and Graham who kindly provided corrupted block chain data for analysis.

I updated my wallet but I cant see my faircoins anymore. I only see transactions. I do have a backup of my wallet also. DO I need to do something else to see my coins

Hi there,

here is a small step-by-step guide.

  • start wallet
  • switch to transaction view
  • right click on any transaction
  • choose 'clear orphans'
  • open the debug window
  • switch to console
  • enter repairwallet at the bottom
  • enter stop (which will cause your wallet to exit)
  • start your wallet again
  • done. Your balance should now be displayed correctly

Hey!

A payment gateway for cryptocurrencies, with woocommerce and other plugins has added faircoin for voting
https://gourl.io/voting-fair.html

At this moment we are not focusing for wordpress plugin, (fairmarket will be in odoo) so could be perhaps a good complement. Anyway perhaps paid votes are not the better in my opinion, but could be interesting to negotiate with them directly...
(also some ways for testing their plugins are useful to receive free bonus)

cheers

near 2btc volume on bittrex cheap faircoins are running out Grin

Yes, is important to see that faircoin is tied to euros more than bitcoin, therefore because bitcoin have lost value last day
is logical that price BTC/FAIR goes up.

Otherwise has been big buys this days in getfaircoin.net, so we are buying for sell to them  Wink

Hello all!

Due the devaluation of Euro, the growing of bitcoin and the consolidation of the range 2100 – 2400 satoshis, between faircoin and bitcoin in bittrex. we have moved the price in getfaircoin.net from 1 € = 165 FAIR to 1€ = 150 FAIR

have a nice week!

I read 'devastation of Euro' instead of 'devaluation of Euro' Wink
Might have something to do with ECB creating money out of thin air and banks starting to put negative interest rates on peoples savings while still making bigtime money on mortgage loans...

in this moment there are 100733 blocks

https://chain.fair-coin.org/rt/connected-nodes.html

i don't see any node at that height and with more than 7 active connection i can't sync  Huh

Hi Jack,

everything is fine with the FairCoin network! What you see in the connected node list is the starting height of the node when it connected to chain.fair-coin.org. So it's not the height that node is currently at.

Nevertheless, some times I can take several minutes until the wallet is in sync depending on the structure of you peers.dat file. If you want to speed things up: stop the client, delete peers.dat and start again. The wallet will be in sync in no time.

Anyway, thanks for reporting a potential problem.  Wink
