Is this the wallet you'd sent that TX last year from? If it ever worked (on this computer) then you must have that folder somewhere, it's where your private keys and the blocks are stored. Note that I'm not saying the Library folder in the root level of your hard drive, but the one in your User folder, which MacOSX now hides by default. To get directly to it, pull down the Go menu and select Go to Folder... and then paste this in: ~/Library/Application Support/Florincoin

Thanks guys!

Found the folder and made the change you suggested Blocktechceo. The error message is now gone but the app fails to open at the "loading block index" part of the process.

I tried loading a new wallet (Florincoin Core version v0.10.4.0-824d84f (64-bit)) on a mac that never had  the florincoin wallet. I made a backup and copy of the wallet on the old mac that is giving me trouble and loaded the data from the old wallet into the new wallet. It seems like the new wallet updated the block index successfully. The only transaction still in limbo is the one I am trying to get back. BTW- The address that this transaction was sent to is my address so I can see that it was never received by that address.

Here is the transaction details as described in the new wallet (on the new mac).

It looks like the transaction never got mined/confirmed in the mainchain, so those 50,000 FLO should still be in the wallet that had them before that transaction. You can confirm this by checking both the TXID and the recipient address in a block explorer, or a few if you want to be really sure.

find your florincoin.conf file (if you're on a mac it should be at ~/Library/Application Support/Florincoin/florincoin.conf, idk where it is on windows, hopefully someone else can fill that detail in if you are)
change
rpcallowip=192.168.0.*
to
rpcallowip=192.168.0.0/16
save and close the file, and then try to open you wallet again

Thanks Blocktechceo- I don't have a folder for florincoin following that path. Is there a way for me to create one?

Help needed:

I sent a payment of Flroincoin and it seems to be stuck in limbo.  I couldn’t find the transaction confirmation in the blockchain.  It’s been over 1 year.   I am running mac os 10.10.5 and the version of the wallet is 0.8.7.4. I tried downloading version 0.10.4.0 to try to get the wallet to updatethe blockchain but I get the following error when I open it- “Invalid -rpcallowip subnet specification: 192.168.0.*. Valid are a single IP (e.g. 1.2.3.4), a network/netmask (e.g. 1.2.3.4/255.255.255.0) or a network/CIDR (e.g. 1.2.3.4/24)”

Any help for this newbie non-techy would be very much appreciated.

Today I am going to write some mining articles on the wiki

[9:43]
Tomorrow begins research into segwit/digishield

[9:43]
segwit/digishield should be complete by June 17th, and a hardfork will happen to implement them soon thereafter

[9:43]
We are also starting the Florincoin foundation to help fund projects such as website redesign, graphic design, dev fund, etc

The wiki has been launched
You can find it here: https://www.wiki.florincoin.info/index.php/Main_Page
I will be adding various articles and guides throughout the next few weeks.

Also, florincoin.info and wiki.florincoin.info both have an SSL cert now and default to HTTPS.

Oh my institutional buying will not happen now, right? What a pity, I was lucky to get my paws on a vault with almost infinite amount of corporate funds and gradually drain a chunk of them into my presonal account on cayman islands and was one step away from dropping 2.9 billion USD on alexandria coin, now, having ensured that its dead, I will save myself a little quid.

The information given florincoin maybe yes maybe not. It is a floating answer that we can not convince because the graph shows down its descent and rises very little. To see evidence just look at poloniex.com, it is not suitable to be believed.

Small update for those closely following the roadmap

Wiki
Work on the wiki has begun. I wanted to have it up by tonight but the server required various upgrades as well as entirely different webserver software. It should be done by tomorrow with a number of articles including a getting started section, mining, wallet FAQs, videos, and more. The alexandria.io team is also in the process of creating an Alexandria wiki.

Segwit
Segwit development will begin on Monday. Deadline is June 17th. I want to include some digishield or KGW/DGW algorithm to discourage auto-switching pools from abandoning our coin so quickly after spiking the difficulty. At the very least their effect should be mitigated.

Foundation
It's come to my attention that a number of original Florincoin community members are interested in becoming more involved with the project by contributing their time and FLO. This will be facilitated by the creation of the Florincoin Foundation. The foundation will:
  • Create a website to coordinate donations and contributions
  • Offer up bounties for work needed to be done
  • Break down donation spending by category (for example: 10% server costs, 20% bounties, 20% dev fund, 25% promotional materials and events, 25% new user education)

Enter the Blockchain
Webapp allowing anyone to try out the best feature of Florincoin: decentralized messaging.
