I am getting 14 Mh/s from my tri-x r9 290 on 1080 gpu clock but for better stability fall back to its reference clock. getting 11+ now. In r9 270 Non X I am getting 6+ Mh/s on 1050 gpu clock. But most exciting thing is I am doing solo mining and my 2 rig point on one wallet and speed of 2 rig combined is 52 Mh/s(I swear I will make it 5 Mh/s more. Just tired). In this speed in pool mining I should get 1600 coin and I already found 3 block in first 7 Hour. Been lucky. Hope luck will remain but also fun on setup(No specific tutorial for GroestlCoin. I set it up based on litecoin. Fun is there). Happy mining.

At least part of the AMD driver update was improved OpenCL compiler.
I took the .bin file from my Windows machine and copied it to my BAMT machine (note, it is better to perform the driver update procedure from previous page, if you are no afraid of doing that).

I did not update the driver, just copied the .bin file generated on Windows 14.6 beta into Bamt with 13.12 drivers.
And here's what I'm getting for my 2X R9 290 Tri-X:

(used to be 9.5 MHS)

Yeah are hot, but at core clock 1140 ?!

A very interesting remark. The very same card was unable to speed up more than 1050 for core - when mining Scrypt. After going to Groestl - mem clock was downed to 1000 - the card became much cooler.

And then was easier to speed up the core clock.

Voltage on 12V rail was dropped from 12.7V to 12.02V under Groestl load  - so still within specs.
Under scrypt the voltage dropped to 11.92V - slightly under spec - but still very good.

Now after this new AMD driver - the card became slightly hotter, it is using 25W more - and the hash rate increased for 80%.

^ now THAT would, indeed, be great news! Can any other miners confirm this?

Listen guys, I have checked this and new drivers ARE A TRUE POISON. At least when Groestlcoin is in question THE SPEED OF HASHING IS ALMOST DUPLICATED!

On R9 280x my previous hash rate was 6.8 MH/s. Now it's 11.43 MH/s.

Fans on the card are not cranking - but rather wheezing with a very high pitch and started to radiate a serious heat. Who says Groestl is friendly to the cards...

How to achieve this result:

1. Get yourself BAMT 1.6.0 (or any other 32-bit Linux distro will do):

http://www.reddit.com/r/BAMT/comments/207rdz/release_bamt_v160_scrypt_scryptn_darkcoin/

2. Get yourself a decent sgminer-sph, I am using this one:

https://github.com/badman74/sph-sgminer

3. Get yourself the latest AMD 14.6 drivers, files are the follows:
linux-amd-catalyst-14.6-beta-v1.0-may23.zip
AMD-APP-SDK-v2.9-lnx32.tgz
ADL_SDK.zip

4. Now, uninstall old drivers, reinstall new drivers, RECOMPILE THE SGMINER:

The EXACT procedure is noted here:
http://rumorscity.com/2013/12/08/amd-display-driver-update-for-r9-290x-on-bamt-litecoin-miner/

NOTE:  Please follow the procedure EXACTLY.

5. DELETE the old compiled CL file, which is usually hidden here:
/opt/miners/sgminer-4.1.0-sph

NOTE: The key to enhanced performance is hidden in NEW on-the-fly re-compilation of .cl files.

6. Everything else is as usual. Mine cards speeds up to 11.43 MH/s:

http://www.kapion.si/Mining-gro.jpg

7. Parameters I am using:
  core_speed_0: 300
  core_speed_1: 1140
  core_speed_2: 1140
  mem_speed_0: 300
  mem_speed_1: 1000
  mem_speed_2: 1000
  core_voltage_0: 1.131
  core_voltage_1: 1.131
  core_voltage_2: 1.131

8. Config file I am using (partial print):
    "auto-fan" : true,
    "gpu-fan": "30-99",
    "temp-cutoff" : "95",
    "temp-overheat" : "85",
    "temp-target" : "79",

    "log" : "5",
    "gpu-powertune" : "20",

Could you please post the updated sgminer with updated .CLs?

hy guys !

yesterday I gave chance to the new 14.6 AMD drivers, and I was stunned with results.  almost 30 % more Mh/s. ( from 8 to 10 Mh/s on 2x r9 280x, and from 4 to 6 Mh/s on 7870 BE )
 (sgminer 4.1.0, and 13.12 was the previous drivers)

Can you please share your settings and voltage for r9 280x. I cant go past 7.1 Mh on sdk 2.9 and 14.6 AMD drivers on 280x Sapphire Vapor-X. Am i doing something wrong? Sgminer is 4.1.0

3 X R9 280x (2msi twinfroz+ sapphire dualx) i pass from 6M to 10M/CARD SUPPPER woooww!!!
-gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memlock 750    14.6 AMD drivers + sgminer 4.1.0 win 8.1 64bit

i Use sgminer.exe -g 1 -w 256 -I 20 -k groestlcoin --no-submit-stale --auto-fan -o stratum+tcp://cryptohunger.com:3333 -u USER -p PASS

I think it make more Heat!!!!

NoxX: (30%*14.4)+14.4=18.72, !14.6

I meant going from driver 14.4 to beta driver 14.6 does not change the hashrate I get for my cards ^^

But I never used driver version 13.x, so not sure about the differences there...
