hy guys !

yesterday I gave chance to the new 14.6 AMD drivers, and I was stunned with results.  almost 30 % more Mh/s. ( from 8 to 10 Mh/s on 2x r9 280x, and from 4 to 6 Mh/s on 7870 BE )
(sgminer 4.1.0, and 13.12 was the previous drivers)

Can you please share your settings and voltage for r9 280x. I cant go past 7.1 Mh on sdk 2.9 and 14.6 AMD drivers on 280x Sapphire Vapor-X. Am i doing something wrong? Sgminer is 4.1.0

Hey you guys.... I have a strange problem here...

I have my Groestl wallet on my home pc and it is syncing without any problem.
I decided to install anorther wallet at work and it is stuck at 170 in the blockchain (Sun Mar 23 06:15:46 2014) with 8 connections. It does not sync.

Added thousands of nodes from various posts but it does not change. Of course both the syncing and the stuck version are compiled from the latest github source.

Any idea?

Thx!

^ now THAT would, indeed, be great news! Can any other miners confirm this?

Going from 14.4 to 14.6 doesn't make any difference for me.

Android miner gives 100KH/s on Google Nexus 10 (dual-core).

If somebody has a fast multi core Android device, it may be worth doing some GRS mining on it.

Note: I recommend that you change default port 3333 to 4444, as port 4444 is optimized for low speed miners (has difficulty 1).

If you try it, please fill in your details in "ARM" section on https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hTOUdJZrKqrNDXTIbXgNvJtj_fnpECREcs-eHxaGrZc/edit?usp=sharing

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miner.groestl

It's a free app, it does show KH/s, number of shares and it does work in background.

What kernel should I be using with sph-sgminer?

Is it Groestl or Groestlcoin

Groestlcoin.  Groestl is used by the darkcoin.cl and marucoin.cl kernels.

Groestlcoin was created on 22 March 2014 and we’ve seen some interesting few months since then. A lot has also been achieved. We have:

  • Patched the HeartBleed vulnerability
  • Updated to Dark Gravity Wave 3
  • Updated the logo
  • Created the new website
  • Created a Reddit tip bot for our users. u/GroestlTip
  • Built a solid base in social communities like twitter, reddit, facebook
  • Created an official Groestlcoin forum, paper money generator, extra block explorer, and got listed on numerous exchanges
  • It is even possible to buy GRS directly with Euro (on 2 different websites).

Building on these important milestones, today we would like to share with you the Groestlcoin roadmap for 2014:

Our most important update: Groestlcoin is going POW + POS (70% POW and 30% POS) on block #150,000 (early July 2014). The community has been asking for it and we are implementing it.

Also, from block #150,000, the new block reward strategy will be used: 25 GRS initially and decreasing 1% each week up to the minimum reward of 5 GRS. The total volume of coins will not be changed and will remain 105,000,000.

It will give us 10 additional years (up to 2033) of mining using the Groestl algorithm and it’ll decrease the inflation levels.

From block #120,000 to block #150,000 the reward will be decreased 10% daily, reaching 25 GRS at block #150,000.

We will launch a Groestlcoin advertising campaign, featuring a bodypainted model in the first week of June. Sneak peak: http://[Suspicious link removed]/KE2xfO

At block #200,000 (or earlier, if time permits) we will introduce GroestlSend, a way to send anonymous transactions.

Other news is that we will be launching a Groestl/MyriadGroestl multipool during this summer and payouts will be in GRS.

We will keep working on a JavaScript/WebGL Groestlcoin mining website and planning to open it by the end of 2014 (no exact date yet).

Android miner has just been released and it gives about 25-60 KH/s per core, on the latest smartphones/tablets. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miner.groestl and https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miner

Another June premiere is a p2pool for Groestlcoin. This will help us better distribute hashes and secure the network.

We are also focusing on the actual usage of Groestlcoin in daily life. Payments with GRS, shops accepting GRS, etc. We just won the CoinPayments.net vote.

Groestlcoin will keep being a community coin and follow the latest trends in crypto currencies.

Thank You,

The GroestlCoin team

This is a welcome start

to demonstrate efficiency of Grøstl on ARM procs

comparative efficiency to GPU on a watt/hash calc would be impressive

ok i think i get it you are releasing the 'miner' like a proof of concept ,

like the one released for scrypt 1024 for raspberry pi some time ago,

i guess no harm in that
i read on twitter you released a miner with a phone/ lol

what is that connected to a pool ? and the battery drain on the device ? heat strain if cpu is pushed to 100% ?

i understand making applications for smartphones to send/receive coins but mining ?

that seems a little crazy...

Hi cinnamon... i see there's another blaker here Wink... it is just a Watt/$ demonstration of the algo efficiency...

I like the idea and it would be nice to have the same for other coins, specially for a certain group of merged mineable coins Wink
