How do you know which difficulty to use for the NOMP pool?

I know you can choose the vardiff port, but what should determine which you should be in on your own, and when to move?

Thanks for any insight.

URL (difficulty 16): stratum+tcp://groestlcoin.biz:3016
URL (difficulty 32): stratum+tcp://groestlcoin.biz:3032
URL (difficulty 64): stratum+tcp://groestlcoin.biz:3064
URL (difficulty 128): stratum+tcp://groestlcoin.biz:3128
URL (VARDIFF 16 - 128): stratum+tcp://groestlcoin.biz:3333

The choice is connected to your hashrate iirc. Lower hashrate > Lower difficulty choice.

Somebody else can hopefully weigh in with more detail Smiley

Hello guys, I tried to crank-up GRS mining today to see what speed I can get. I will share my results and configs. If somebody is able to squeeze higher speeds with the same gpus, please share your configs.

GPU0&1 -> MSI R280X GAMING
GPU2    -> SAPPHIRE R290
sgminer -k groestlcoin --difficulty-multiplier 0.00390625 -o stratum+tcp://cryptohunger.com:3333 -u user -p pass -I 19,19,20 -g 1,1,2 --gpu-engine 1200,1200,1100  --gpu-memclock 1050,1050,1000 --gpu-fan 60

GPU0 -> SAPPHIRE R7 260X 2GB OC
sgminer -k groestlcoin --difficulty-multiplier 0.00390625 -o stratum+tcp://cryptohunger.com:3333 -u user -p pass -I 20 -g 1 --gpu-engine 1280 --gpu-memclock 975

Thank you for the settings.  I have a MSI 280x 2G OC as well and that setting bumped me from 6.3mh to 7.3mh

New pool. Testers welcome. Currently found 2 blocks.

http://groestlcoin.biz/

0.8% proportional (go toward Groestlcoin promotion)
No transfer fees
Location: Amsterdam
No registration necessary, just use your wallet address as login
Payouts every minute (once you have more than 10 GRS in your account)
Locked diff 16,32,64,128 (for high-hashers) and VARDIFF available (16-256)

Awesome pool, I've been using it for past 2 days now and I love it.  Good job as I love NOMP pools now.

I love how the team allude to the "mysterious gruve_p", trying to create (? Wink ) some similarities with satoshi Smiley

I just checked gruve_p's very first post on the forum, before he lauched GRS, and got a good laugh out of them:

Hi all!!

mining bitcoin with cpu it is nonsense ))

I never gamble

A day after the "I never gamle" qoute, our satoshi lauched GRS hehe. When I figure out how to put text in my signature it will be "I never gamle" (though I do it most of the time)

Groestlers,

It's gonna be a very busy summer for groestlcoin, so we thought we'd better suit up!

We would like to establish our new look and feel now in preparation for the weeks and months of excitement ahead as we revolutionize the space of crypto-mining, armed with the ultimate PoW.

We've gone for a sophisticated new logo and merged it with a stunning new campaign which in our opinion negotiates the 'hard-to-pronounce' name with breathtaking aplomb, humour and ingenuity. We hope you agree it is clever, original and totally fresh! Once you get what we've done we hope you'll see the scale of the concept.

We believe we have deciphered the mysterious scrabble tile clue left to us by our Satoshi, gruve_p. We have thus turned our most difficult challenge into a great asset.

As core members of the community we felt is fitting to give a sneek peek a few hours before we go LIVE,

Happy Mining,

The Groestlcoin Team

p.s.We invite members to submit their own takes on the concept, once you get it… Wink
I’ll be tipping the best and we may end up using them in the official campaign

thats good to hear fake shares.... wow

Fake shares have been going on for at least a year.  https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=4002.0

Older pools have fixes for them, like Suprnova.cc.

But now, there are new pools popping out every day and probably don't read the "older" posts...

Sometimes, young dogs just don't want to be taught old tricks...

WØW! Such truthness Wink

Hi Tommo!

You might want to consider using MPOS UI + NOMP stratum. Groestlcoin support is built in there.
Fixing the stratum python to work with Groestlcoin is a nightmare.

Thanks
srcxxx

Thanks srcxxx, I've had a play with NOMP and have it running Groestlcoin on tompool.org along with MPOS for share processing, found a block, all working Smiley

Good, should I add your pool to the list?

ocminer

Could you please communicate detailed info to other pool ops to stamp this behavior out?
Is there a more permanent fix, or is this gonna be cat/mouse?

thx

btw - this affects all coins, not just ours Smiley

Pool:

https://grs.suprnova.cc

Still lots of free slots for miners, hop in, we're finding blocks on a regular basis and got all the Googles.

Our Daemon is patched against the various fake share attacks, You really get What You mine.

I've found out a new way "miners" could send fake shares and fixed the daemon against this. Sorry guys, there
are now multiple clients out there which are only programmed for one reason, calculating, exploiting and sending fake shares, its really getting annoying. This is now fixed, hash rate dropped badly on the pool, I've found at least two miners using the fake miners.

So  https://grs.suprnova.cc is now safe against fake share miners again.

i got a quick question. hopefully someone can help me. i just started mining groestl (always have a hard time spelling it  Grin) is the work utility supposed to be so low? i'm seeing around 0.0442/m for a card pushing 2.931Mh/s. is this normal behavior?

Yes, that's normal

thx, much appreciated Smiley
