If you plan to mine Groestl algo, a 750W power supply is enough for 4 x R9 280X
You can push easily the R9 280X to 7.7/8MHs (1200MHz, 1.2v, still cold)

I don't know the USD prices, but if i convert from EU prices to USD :

4 x R9 280x + 750W corsair Gold + CM (msi z77 g45) + intel g2020 + 4Go =~1600$

~30/32MHs

This rate are very nice, what is power consuption for all of this ?

280x = 6,42 Mh/s
270s = 3,52 Mh/s

I can change intensity UP to 24, give me some hashrate power, but this is stable for me.
Memory and GPU is in max. on this voltage, anything above make me crash driver.

Thank you very much! Can you please tell me the model for 280x?

wen Asic dominate Scrypt the price of GPU will Crash !take this in Mind.

Prices crashed 2-3 week ago, for example in my country 280x used can buy 181 Eur - cost 275 EUR before crash. Yes prices can fall, but 40 EUR max ? New gpu is not comming in this year

Cheapo used card from other miners 280x for example...

ok, more info:

my simple small configuration 2x270 /undervolt 1,1v/ + 2x280x /undervolt 1,083v/, ASrock h81 Pro btc, 4gb ram+one small hdd, 2x 1200 rpm noctua power supply: enermax platimax 1200w (yes overkill for this coin...)

power consuption for complet is 378 W only =  20 Mh/s hashrate

What values for 280x? GPU Engine & Mem?

PM for journalist,typing,and data entry services.
Getting no blocksource available, will try to do some troubleshooting, but could someone give me a hand on what I should do?

prob need to addnodes to your conf file

The team is slowly building up - I can do some PR on my end.

This coin has many things going for it, from low energy algo to CPU/GPU friendliness. We are in a instant world where people expect high gains in a very short period of time - this coin has 10 days guys, it took weeks for darkcoin, aurora or vertcoin to emerge - not even talking about bitcoin...

I've been mining this coin since a few days now, and love the fact that it is still undermined - Eventually, if the coin has value, it will explode no matter what we do, it's just a matter of time before the market realizes the advantages of groestlcoin.

How's the team building going?

Asic is not a real problem.
every algo, including scrypt-N or scrypt-jane are not asic proof.

If there is enough money to earn with a coin (i mean, million dollars), you will see asic development.

For now, yes, Groestl is more asic resistant than other algo (for example keccak or X11) because of it's market cap.

I don't think we have to base our com on asic resistant or not. All coins claim that, and none are really asic proof/resistant.

The true differences this coin on other : power efficience, gpu and cpu firendly. It's already a big thing, summer is coming (and very near, it's a hot day here today, and i'm glad that my gpu only reach 55/60°C being overclocked for half the power of scrypt)

I also hope the dev / dev team will find other arguments to promote the coin. Darkcoin has anonymity, some has other additions.. How hype is a coin is important to. Someone propose a vid with "groestl" pronunciation, it's a very good idea (but i don't know any german/austrian near me..)

I'm not for a re-launch, but not against a fork for adding thing or reducing the reward reduction (i'm fine with it, but many complain about it.)

Any interest in a groestlecoin relaunch with a different name and changes to the coin reduction?

Have some ideas to target GPU miners that will be impacted by ASICs. In particular Litecoin and Dogecoin.

This includes the GRS developer. I already sent him a PM suggesting a name change. I think this was just a hobby or a technical project.
The Groestl algo has no resistance to ASIC, it's one of the pre-requirements to be a SHA3 candidate.

Developing an ASIC costs a ton of money. So a Groestl ASIC will only happen if and when Groestl becomes a very popular algo for coins. That would implicate that GroestlCoin would become a big success.
