reddit tipbot is back up - /u/groestltip. You will have to re-register if you previously had an account, but when you do, any coins you had in your account should still be there. Might be up and down a little over next week or two, but should be mostly up.

'But when it came to other digital currencies, investors didn't bail on them. They started gobbling them up. '

http://fortune.com/2017/03/14/bitcoin-digital-currencies-sec/

'So, Global GDP = 70,000 Billion.
So, 1% of G. GDP = 700 B.'

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoMarkets/comments/242i41/crypto_prices_and_the_global_financial_crisis/

Some months ago, us IndiaMikeZulu guys did an analysis of 'if $X flowed into cryptocurrencies, how much would each of the top cryptos 'soak up' before the capital began 'cascading' into cryptos further down the charts?'

I arbitrarily chose the figure of $330 Billion -- see the reddit post quoted above.

Well, what we found astounded us. We figured that Bitcoin would simply 'choke' if you dumped $25B into it. Then we made admittedly wild guesses about how many 'B' would 'choke' the next crypto down the charts. Then the next.

And we tried different 'distribution models' -- bigger sums for a shorter list of cryptos, or smaller sums for a longer list of cryptos.

And the astonishing thing? Wow! however you deal it out, and even if the amount of capital is much less than $330B, a crypto at, say, one-hundred-something on the charts no longer seems like it's 'way down there.' it's suddenly a viable investment option.

Go, us!

BTC will be 1225$ and GRS will be 800sat, I think.

What price will Bitcoin and GRS be on March 22?

GRS's Price IMZ offers a one-thousand GRS price (but he's not allowed to win)

IMZ: 500

exemplaar: 340 satoshi

hterw: 800

Bitcoin's Price jwinterm offers a one-thousand GRS price

B.N. calls '$0.' '[$700 some time this year; but for mid-March, $1337.'

Sabretooth calls 'lower than people think. Big buy-in opportunity in coming months.'

IMZ: new guess, me -- $800? but I can't play anymore 'cause there's a tiny prize up for grabs -- but may I note that my eight hundred came from assuming a drop in a Bitcoin price that has risen rather more than I thought it would!

Rat (a Tux Exchange dev): $1000

mini (another Tux dev): $1600 or better

Hi
I just tried the easy miner and had a few problems.
Microsoft defender and Chrome didn't like the download. I got a message that some malware was removed.
I went ahead and set up an electrum wallet.
I tried to mine to us-east1.groestlcoin.miningpoolhub.com:20486 and could not connect.
I switched to default at Dwarfpool. The miner seemed to be getting some shares.
I noticed that default address has been used. I was unable to change address to one from the electrum receive addresses.
I never saw any hashrate at Dwarfpool. (might have been a bit impatient due to address issue)

I started mining at night, but it wasn't last night ;-) . I am familiar with and using Claymore's Dual and also Zcash.
Perhaps I should try sgminer? Is there a link or info as to how to mine GroestCoin? The linked mega at MPH is broken.

Am I on the right path?
Thanks
Abe

Or - you might want to check https://grs.suprnova.cc :-)

Updated https://grs.suprnova.cc and its now segwit ready

Bitcoin's price on Groestl's birthday? 1000-GRS prize

Latest guesses:

http://groestlcoin.org/forum/index.php?topic=477.0

And why should not be the other way around?

Predicting the price of GRS and reward in BTC Cool. All in all this is GRS thread - it is about grs, not btc.  Right?

My prediction: GRS price on it's birthday will be 340 sato.

Okay!! I will update the Groestl.org site and Reddit Groestl sites forthwith. Readers can post their Guesses here or there.

What price will Bitcoin and GRS be on March 22?

[A Bit of Rules? There are a couple of penny prizes. And shall Jackie be the arbiter? using Coinmarketcap's price on the morning of the 22nd? And GRS's price? The ask price on Bittrex at the same time?]

Breaking ETF-Decision Nooooz

' . . . some analysts and traders have speculated that bitcoin markets could rise as a result, although considering the recent ramp in BTC’s price in recent weeks, the news may have been priced in and holders may instead sell the news.'

Wa ha ha ha! So . . . the price will either rise or fall!? Genius.

Just found this on Cryptopia:

'Notice: Due to low volume the DOT, XMR, UNO and FTC base markets will be closing on 10/03, please cancel any open orders.'

Interesting, never thought they would close DOT base market.

IMHO, a small suite of high-volume-low-spread trading-pairs is optimal.

Nice tight spread on the BTC-GRS pair!

Pepecash? Are you drunk? They dont even have Groestlcoin, the best and most undervalued coin ever, listed!

I'm steadily and politely co-ordinating a little promotion across a range of sites. If you can't help, don't hinder.

I don’t hope for a stratospheric spike in GRS’s price (followed inevitably by a catastrophic unspike . . . ). How will that help us achieve our goal, a cryptographic currency attractive to millions?

Note Vlad’s Twitter: https://medium.com/@Vlad_Zamfir/about-my-tweet-from-yesterday-dcc61915b572#.pmxgsx93r
We aren’t ragging on ETH here, merely discussing our goals. Ethereum holds great potential – I own a swag of them – but we’ve been repeatedly warned: Eth is fragile, an experiment. Not really a currency.

And note here: ' . . . Fenton, a board member at the Bitcoin Foundation, contended that 95% node consensus – the threshold required for network adoption of SegWit – will be extremely difficult, if not impossible.'

 http://www.coindesk.com/roger-ver-bets-segwit-bitcoin-upgrade-anarchapulco/

The notion that Bitcoin is now a ‘digital gold’ – rare but hard to move – is now mainstream: not a currency!

And meanwhile the capital just keeps on rolling in, as the global financial situation deteriorates. I recall when the term ‘P.I.I.G.S.’ was first used. Us libertarians were called loonies and alarmists. Now, a half a decade later . . . true or false:

Italy has the 8th largest economy in the world, but is kept from collapse only by the ECB’s purchases of its debt?

tl;dr: there is much more money to be made from a crypto by making it a stable platform, and leveraging commercial enterprises from that platform.
