Are there plans to test Lightning Network implementations, Sidechains or/and Atomic Swaps with Groestlcoin once they are usable? Thanks!

Yes. There are plans to test Lightning Network and Atomic Swaps.
For atomic swaps we first need other coins to activate segwit.

For lightning network:
1. port btcd (written in GO) for groestlcoin: https://github.com/btcsuite/btcd
2. port Lightning network (written in GO) for groestlcoin: https://github.com/lightningnetwork/lnd
3. Start testing it on grs testnet

Our team is not familiar with GO so it will take time..

Thanks! I will try to follow the development of Groestlcoin and could participate in testing of these features (not development, I'm not a coder). I've already installed the GRS client.

Try testing all our wallets and provide feedback, that would be helpfull.

Hello guys, I believe you are experts here so can you help me answer some questions? Smiley
1, In what category is the coin first? In what category coin promotes itself?
2, What new features this coin creates? How is it unique?
3, Are promises kept by devs?
4, Are features on roadmap delivered regularly?
5, What is overall state of development?
6, Can I find somewhere number of daily transactions?

I'll be happy to read the answers to these questions.

Can I use ethminer-0.9.41-genoil-1.1.7 to mine?
If not which one should I use?

No use this:
http://groestlcoin.org/forum/index.php?topic=376.0

The performance is bad

Mining is not profitable. Only diehard groestlers are mining currently.

(If we just voluntarily increased our transaction fees, would that help the miners?)

The current miners will keep mining even with no transaction fees. The only way to attract new miners is higher grs price.

Hi! I'm interested in the Segwit feature and "enhanced Bitcoin/cryptocurrency features" like off-chain payment methods and sidechains.

Are there plans to test Lightning Network implementations, Sidechains or/and Atomic Swaps with Groestlcoin once they are usable? Thanks!

I'm just gonna observe for a little while. (If we just voluntarily increased our transaction fees, would that help the miners?)

Oooh! There's a Litecoin-GRS pair on Cryptopia! I put up a bid.

[And just got fresh fruit dropped off by my neighbour. Picked less than an hour ago. And I paid her in bullion -- silver. We also do crypto-bullion trades. Here's Eric the Emu and his chicks sneaking into my garden to ravage the cucumbers: http://imgur.com/a/zUvTm ]

Sigh, once upon a time, long long ago, I nearly adopted this crypto.

Please, just to confirm:

One: for lil ol’ me, a techno-klutz, I can survive on the (fine) array of wallets available on the ‘home’ thread. (Windows 64 bit, me)
Two: although the squabble is on-going, GRS is arguably ‘anti-ASIC’ (which I sorta understand)
Three: GRS is post pre-mine; 66 M units have been mined; and it’s ‘old school POW,’ meaning it’s not goin’ POS.

1. Let me know if you need any assistance on your survival quest on our wallets Smiley
2. We are not anti-ASIC but currently ASIC free.
3. Yes GRS is not going POS.

Just popped in with a kind word. I did a little How Hard Is It for A Newcomer to Setup A Wallet? survey. Groestl scored top marks, including an offer of personal assistance from the dev. Go, GRS!

Any problems with segwit or everything went smooth?

No problems at all, all is working flawlessly as designed.

No risk, no fun!
Any problems with segwit or everything went smooth?

everything went smooth, GRS only needs more teams to work with them on creating a bigger segwit network! :-D

A question: Has the Segwit soft fork already taken place? If yes, did everything go well?

If not: Approximately, how many blocks in the last 2016 block periods have been mined with Segwit support? Is there a web site to view adoption by miners?

Already thanks for your answers! I'm researching a little bit about Segwit adoption in the "altcoin world" and Groestlcoin seems, until now, the most advanced with the issue.

Crossposting from other thread:
It was 95% of the blocks mined in the last 2016 blocks, like Bitcoin has.

CSV, Segwit and BIP65 timeline:
Signal: Miners will be able to signal that they are willing and able to enforce csv, segwit and BIP65 starting at the beginning of the first 2016 block retarget period on or after 21 January 2017 (UTC). In short signalling started on block 1435392 which was on 21 january 2017
Lock-in: Once 95% of blocks in a 2016 block long period have signaled that their miners are ready to enforce csv, segwit and BIP65 then csv, segwit and BIP65 will lock-in – meaning that unless the blockchain is rolled back at that point, csv, segwit and BIP65 will become active. In short Lock-in happend on block 1437408 which was on 23 january 2017
Activate: After another 2016 block period, csv, segwit and BIP65 will activate, allowing miners to produce blocks containing csv, segwit and BIP65 transactions on Groestlcoin’s mainnet. In short Activate happend on block 1439424, which was on 24 january 2017.

So yes, it is activated since 24 january 2017.

Thank you and keep up the good work! Just downloaded a wallet to test it Wink

You can verify the state in the wallet console by entering: "getblockchaininfo"

Then is GRS the first segwit Coin.
