OSYA,

might as well just delete everything and start again. (save the wallet.dat file)

Can someone explain exactly how the disaster works?

I have the mithral man client and it says 75% of disaster.  What does that really mean?

Disasters cannot happen within 1 day (1440 blocks) after the last one.  After that, there's a 1/10k chance for one at each block.  If this didn't kick in after 12 days, a disaster is forced precisely 12*1440 blocks after the last one (this is what huntercoin.info shows you).  I think what the MithrilMan client shows you is the cummulative chance for a disaster until the current time.  I. e., 75% means that - if you observe lots of disasters - roughly 75% of the time it will already have happened at the current point in time (relative to the last one).  Note that it doesn't mean that now is a higher chance than 1 day after the last one - it is still precisely 1/10k per block (see "gambler's fallacy" if you are interested).  However, since we're getting close to the forced disaster, chances are pretty good by now that it will happen at the maximum time.

thanks for the explanation. the random disaster is a great feature. however, having a hard coded time limit and forced disaster does not seem great. would that not just drop players to 0 around the last blocks? why have a forced time limit? why not just let it go on with a) similar probability or b) could also increase probability of disaster as a function of time. most simply, after 12x1440, its upped to 2/10k... just thinking out loud...

redbeans, i don't know but my instinct after reading the posts would be that 75% of disaster means: time_now = 12*1440*0.75

Have you seen my post?  #5598

Do you have more details on what exactly does not work for you?  Feel free to open a ticket at Github if you think it is a bug (and not a problem with a corrupt data directory or blockchain download from a third-party source).

When I was on the "D" version has been doing well, then there was the "E" I downloaded it, threw the files in the working directory, and here I am! For 2 or 3 days I suffer = (

I tried to fix it ...

I downloaded the latest blockchain, but the customer "E" does not recognize blockchain. Just RAM consumed 2 + GB (it seems to me, should not happen)

So the chance of disaster is getting pretty high huh?   Grin

100% chance soon Smiley (although I would rather see the random disaster)

Not sure of a strategy yet this will be my first one.

Probably not related, with with the two versions being out right now... I accidentally ran the dat files from 11e with 11d  executable and everything worked, but when I went back to run 11e executable it hung and did not work.

The newest version (11e) uses a new file utxo.dat to do transaction verification.  If you have it (since you ran 11e already) but switched to 11d for some time, then utxo.dat is out of sync and you can't successfully verify new blocks.  You can try just deleting utxo.dat and starting the client, which will regenerate it from scratch (takes some time, though).

Everything is clear, thanks for the help! This manual does not help me! Because that's what I do! Only without the instructions ...

BGB instead of text message, why not just a simple disaster app that sends a push message when there is a disaster.  I'm not a programmer, but thats probably pretty easy to make huh? Undecided

I mentioned that in the post on the forum. I agree a push would make more sense, but you have to have an app for that. I could easily do an iOS app (I have all the necessary certs and licenses to do iOS apps), but although I have done Android work, I am not as fluent with it (Mithral said he knows Android). I suspect that Snail might have an app in progress anyway, probably related to the centralized server project, so it makes no sense for me to put something out if that is the case.

*sigh*

5,499.99 HUC still MIA and now I can't log on. www.Ecoinfund.com

Still waiting for a support ticket on BTCT because you can't open a support ticket without being logged into your account.

Does anyone have a email for these cats? They haven't been on BTC since the 15th and I've already tweeted them.

Can anyone else log into this exchange?

For them, it's okay! They is often the case, try to periodically enter.

Thank you! Makes me feel better. I'll keep trying every day.

no its not, that doesn't happen to me.  Are you using the Mithril man client?
