You don't need to pay if you want to keep your data, you just don't earn something then. Actually I wonder how the Datum project will financiate themself? Will they take a fee for every sell?

Are you sure? Then if you are a smart data seller you could use storage nodes as a free file locker or backup service.

Storing data costs money. As such, Storage Nodes are incentivized to store data

Data is stored as long as storage is paid for, by either:
● Data Source
● Data Consumer

Nothing is free Wink

unless the data is automatically deleted. then you need only keep it on your own device and delete as you go.

Datum will give us the opportunity to take back the earnings of our data.
That is actually very exciting.  Smiley

It also allows you not to sell your data and keep your privacy Wink

Well that' s wrong, that's not because you use datum that your data can't be stolen and buyed by the conventional way.

Don't know if someone already posted this but I just found in their telegram chat a calculator, however haven't checked it out yet

https://calc.datum.org
It shows that the more data you share the more it is valued and the more each source of data is worth. And their valuation is based on average revenue per user.

Yet, it's a bit vague, it doesn't say if these are the estimated annual/monthly/whathever amounts. I guess its annual.

I'd be surprised if facebook only made 30$ on my data in 1 year, I'm guessing it's monthly

How does this calculator work exactly? How do they know how much my data is worth if they dont know who and for how much bought it? Or is this just an average number they came up with for regular user?
Maybe, they will have an avergare number for normal user, that is my opinion because I think we have not any way to calculate the price for each person data. But if you are a famous person, I do not think your data will be cheap price Roll Eyes

No, I think that data is quite accurate but don't forget you also have a lot of other social media accounts which will be worth together a few hundred dollars.

I found this image very clear on how the client will look:

Now you have an idea how your data will be worth something.
When this data is sold to 10 companies, you can make good money I think.

Datum should release a demo so we can all test how the client will work.

This looks quite interesting, does this mean that you pay some Dat if you keep the data for yourself?

Nope, i think you are not earning that amount of dat by keeping it to yourself.

You don't need to pay if you want to keep your data, you just don't earn something then. Actually I wonder how the Datum project will financiate themself? Will they take a fee for every sell?

Probably they will pay us x and will sell it to 2x or maybe lower multiply but still they will sell it eventually and it will higher price then they pay us for data.

But they will sell large arrays of classified data, over which sorting work has been done. Therefore, the price will include the cost of this data processing.

I also think its annual. Based on annual average revenue per user taken from companies accounting reports.

We can eran Datum tokens in full time, or only once? And how many I can earn for shares my data?

I think it will depend on the Datum price and how much a company is willing to pay for your data. We will need to wait for a running  version to run calculation on this.
I think you will earn datum token for every buyer who wants to buy your data.
And the amount still cant be decided yet.

hm.. so, every big companies will pay for our data? Such coca-cola, apple, mersedes etc?  Roll Eyes
I think it depends on the country you live. If a company wants to increase the purchases of a product in a specific country they will try to find out what their target group is.

Datum is open source, and gives us the power to choose what kind of data our data will be useful, we can either lock them, sell them to identified people, have a minimum price or not, or everyone.

Well that's the idea. They'll pay us for our data like shopping behavior and such, so they don't need to pay large middlemen (facebook eg) who calculate their price based on their costs. Since we ourselves don't have business expenses based on our data, we can charge them less then massive organisations.

Maybe Datum will also create some sort of data blocker (like ad blockers) that will minimize the amount of data that gets put out there, like a proxy server that doesn't registrate your online behavior.
