PS - Thanks for adding our signature to your profile - it looks AMAZING - and Electroneum is going to fly! The mobile mining is really catching people's interest.

The app is in the android play store in Beta (which means I can just press a button and it will be live) and we are just waiting for the iOS one to pass some more Apple requirements (we've had to jump through a few hoops to define our access to the camera, which enables us to scan QR codes to make Electroneum wallet transfers on and off paper or screen).

Both iOS and Android versions should be downloadable and ready for install from the App and Play stores this week.

Your https://my.electroneum.com username and password will get you in to the app and vice versa.

Thanks for the tip, I'll get someone on that - we do use HTTPS where there are passwords and usernames changing hands - https://my.electroneum.com

We also use it in the back end between our app and our servers. It's only the main website and blog that doesn't use HTTPS.

Think of the app like an airdrop. Once launch comes, everyone will put the app on their phones, and you wont be getting alot, but you will always be going up, this is going to catch people from the non crypto world.

I can assure you there is nothing "a little bit shady" about Electroneum or our team. We are a real team of really dedicated coders!

We (the cryptocurrency community) will never become widely adopted with the level of technical skills that are currently required to use an ASIC or GPU miners. Plus the cost for entry for those platforms is HUGE.

Our blockchain was only being developed for FUN initially!! This idea has developed out of a bunch of quite geeky guys, developing something in their spare time.

Half my Retortal team (I own a large digital agency called SiteWizard and a very large social media management platform called Retortal) started to get involved tinkering around.

Once we realised we could actually launch our own cryptocurrency we put the brakes on and said "hang on, how are we DIFFERENT". There are PLENTY of forks of monero or bytecoin. What makes ours FANTASTICALLY different is the app we've developed that allows mobile mining. We now have a CLEAN, UNMINED blockchain being launched (i.e. we haven't mined the heck out of it for personal gain). That's an exciting oppotunity for mobile, cpu and gpu miners on the day it goes fully live (1st November 2017)!

You (people on this forum) might think of mining, GPU mining, and ASIC mining as trivial - but it really isn't - we are all VERY technical people. Even the people on here that are really un-technical are 1000s of times MORE technical than the average person on the street.

What we have developed is a super simple app that allows people to download (free) and start a mining experience with ZERO technical knowledge.

Sure, they are not going to earn the same number of coins that desktop CPU miners earn, and they won't earn as many coins as the GPU miners (even though we are trying to limit GPU mining via our blockchain - please see Smooth Emission in the Technical White Paper - http://electroneum.com/technical-white-paper.pdf).

People who experience MOBILE mining are quite probably taking their first steps into cryptocurrency. This is GREAT for cryptocurrencies in general.

Electroneum will introduce millions of new cryptocurrency users because of it's simplicity. Some of them will go on to mine with CPU and GPU rigs. ALL of them will have their eyes opened to the world of cryptocurrency that WE all take a little bit for granted!

It's an exciting time - and we have plans to gain millions (or hopefully tens and hundreds of millions) of new users of cryptocurrency from around the world.

If you have any concerns, it's best to voice them - but we are anything but "shady".

This project is interesting. Im going to participate this campaign even if social media only.

How some of you think its shady I dont get? Other then those who admitted not really looking into it yet. Look into it and tell me what you think then.

Weve seen what a capable team can do to bring interest from "real world". Check Iota and NEM, etc. for examples. They have an office, working product at launch, and they are going after, and making a marketshare allowing gamers to sell their in game currency on its exchange.

Plus, they are thinking mass adoption. If people know they can have an app running in the background that mines real money via real coins, many will do it.

This has got to be one of the most legit and transparent ICOs Ive seen in awhile.

They are real world marketers, that have this down to a "call to action" in Download the App Now.

The more that download it, the more that will use it. Point is everybody likes free coins, and when they know putting it on their Twitter feed, or posting it to Facebook will make their coins worth more, they will do it.

These guys are real, and have plan.

This will be a profitable ICO for investors here IMO after reading everything.

the concept on using mobile phones to mine coins is just not appealing to those who already experience mining using asic and gpus. I am interested how will they do it to make people mine a coin using mobile phone profitable. Actually nice concept, people just need clarifications.
