Any details you can share about the team involved? There are a few other transportation or taxi type ico's and coins out there. Stating the obvious here but this type of information will give people confidence to invest or be involved in some other way (like through a bounty campaign).

Difference from other apps:
Major T.IM has it's own protocol and 100-thousand geo-mining participants. Thus it is fast, more secure and eco-friendly. The network will become ready to host millions of hyperlocal dapps. Taxi is only for swarm protection. It means that Taxi service is not main purpose of blockchain, rather taxi apps act as node validations for PoB.
Other differences T.IM is a real world practically scalable decentralized network. Compared with others, it is not for frivolous acts or "Me-Too". Other taxi services are for towing etc, but not for real Uber like experience. T.IM is for user experience and cutting the middleman to bring efficiency.
We are also planning to propose the improvements in EIP in few days, so that we can combine resources.
