This thing is still alive? No offence, but this was a fiasco from the get go, with devs having no clear idea or path forward, and who were also in denial (also refused to assist listing on exchanges, allowing two scam exchanges to grip the community, then blamed the community for being stupid; insisted yescrypt is not possible or profitable on GPUs, etc) ... No wonder some devs ran away (with stolen funds, I understand). I'm surprised someone listed it on a 3rd exchange (same anonymous BS exchange that nobody should touch with a long pole), probably to get rid of some heavy bags. Price was 280-300 before the 1st exchange scammed everybody, by the way.

Genuine question: Why are people interested in this, other than you mined it and want to get rid of it? Surely you can't say "promising anonymous coin", because there are plenty of better and established anonymous coins out there with actual responsible teams (with actual track records and identity, not anonymous), and this never actually had any real plans ...

I'll wait until they get up to at least 200 sat and may even hang out for 300 sat. I don't think people should be giving these away so cheaply, they are probably going to really regret i some day.

60sat? unreasonably low price. 

KOTO is now listed on kyobit . Someone had tried to withdraw and it worked but the pricing is a bit low.  However, no one knows who list it...so trading on it might be at risk. I still recommend people to just keep mining and store KOTO until there's a proper exchange in the future.

It cleared everything with such detailed and reply and explanation about the difference and potential that I got your point. I never was there in that part of world but will do agree that if it is adopted by that industry has great chance to see not only survive but also grow over the time. I have this on my watch list and still trying to get but thanks for help for bringing context at front-end.

You're right to be cautious but let me clear out a few things.
Indeed, the Japanese authorities are quite stiff with regulations for anonymous crypto currencies at the moment. Especially after the NEM hack a few months ago, they did ban privacy based coins from Japanese exchanges. But you can still use them and transact but just not on Japanese exchanges.

I think they will soften up eventually towards privacy coins on exchanges because let's be honest, what's the difference between a cash deal between 2 persons in real life and an anonymous transaction online. Sooner are later they will have to regulate this again.
About two weeks ago some good news came out. Gemini which is one of the most regulated exchanges in New York announced that the trading of privacy-focussed Zcash will begin. This just might be a great precedent for the future of privacy coins.

Koto is a clone of Zcash with yescrypt algorithm. Now, what the potential of Koto? I don't know if you ever went to Akihabara, the Electric Town for Anime and Manga in Tokyo. If Koto would be adopted in this industry that would already be more than enough for the coin to survive. This industry is just huge with many possibilities.
But the Koto team would like to have a broader market and expand to different countries (which is possible).
I've been following this project pretty much from the start. They had an unfortunate event and this is where the community took over.
From what I can see (daily) they are doing a great job and handled the community voting very well and are moving forward.
Have a look at their Discord and if you have any questions don't hesitate.

Please note that this is my personal opinion and everyone should trade/invest/mine at their own due diligence.

I didn't follow the project but would like to clear one thing with my question. Japanese authorities have forced few exchanges to drop privacy based coins with anonymous transactions. How will not this coin be effected in future by those measures ? If those measures can apply on other coins similar of which this is clone then why not on this ? I will appreciate any reply.

It has been confirmed. A new wallet will be released before the hard fork.

This has yet to be fully confirmed but a new wallet will be released soon that will sync with the new blockchain. Once we reach block height xxxx the hard fork will happen and all balances will be forked over (Except the premine from the founder) to the new wallet.

Some were talking to give the old koto a different (ugly) name so that nobody would use them )).
Most important is that the current balances will be forked over together with the Koto - name - logo - algorithm as voted by the community.

Once there're more updates I'll share them in this thread.
