Saw a news piece on Scrypt Asics today - 8MH/s for $350 on a single pci express card pulling 40 watts coming as soon as July. If we put aside POS from the discussion we should at least talk about switching to a more Asic resistant alg - It might buy us a year but its better than getting hammered and dumped to hell.

I see instruction, no stratum+tcp://, do I need to put that in ? Thanks
I have no idea how I have missed that. Yes ofcourse, you should use stratum+tcp.

http://karm.multi-pool.eu

Simply the best pool imo.
Mostly over 200 workers , so its very effective.

Back on Track after some stratum Probs now.
it IS a very good pool and I have mined there myself.

Only problem is that it accounts for >51% of the global hash-rate. We should really try to branch out on multiple pools so we don't have >51% on ANY pool. And NO I don't mean you should then use my pool implementation but use ANY other pool but those that are close to or over 51%.

The reason why people don't do it is because they will fear diminished returns from mining on a 3MH/s pool compared to a 250MH/s pool. All pools should on (sometimes long) average pay out the exact same amount of karm/mhs.

A 3MH/s pool should return about 10 blocks a day (if we say that the current network is ~420MH/s) aka 1.1 mio karma

so about 340k karma/day for 1Mh/s regardless of which pool you use. if you are on multi-pool.eu you should consider moving for the well being of the network.

Any other pool recommended?
http://www.hasher.ca

2% fee PROP reward system
I would not recommend this pool to anyone. He attacked me because I copied his boilerplate spam and when I asked him about working together I have not gotten a reply from him. Just more boilerplate spam in this thread. (link at the bottom of this post)

He doesn't care that other people have implemented a p2pool before him. So He is not using the global prefix for p2pools meaning that he might as well run a regular pool.

Also he uses a 2% fee, where my p2pool implementation uses a 1% fee.

My p2pool has a fee because I also host the blockchain explorer, seed wallets and I would very much like fees to cover running it.

The fee does not cover it at all but hey I am here for the karma, I knew my server would be running at a loss. I have made $1.20 in about 20 days and I have used a lot of my sparetime making sure it runs properly.

Consider using every other pool before  you use his.... you can see where he got upset at me here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=579973.1180

I wonder if this post will make him respond in a proper manner, spew more vile or just ignore me.

Each time we find a block, the reward is halved by the total number of miners (we are 3 actually) and we receive the reward directly on our wallet.
We found 3 blocks in 5 hours.

use any pool that does not have a lot of the global hashing power. i'd advertise my own implementation but I don't want to come off as aggressive, I am sure you can find it if you look for it. The fee (1%) helps run critical infrastructure for karma, like the blockexplorer and seed wallets.

I'm feeling a bit like Leonidas at the moment...

holding back the Persian hordes trying break through my line of 32 litoshis...

BTW thanks for selling me your coins at a cheap price...

I joined your fight!!! to all those Karmenions out there hodl!!!!! join us at 32 Wink that's fun

Another whale gone! As long as the coins dumped went to more than 1 person its good news Smiley I'd rather true Karma believers hold the coins than pump n dump day traders looking to make a quick buck!

Remember folks - The only reason this numbnuts dumped was to try and scare others to dump so he can buy your coins back cheaper! Let's punish him by making sure if he ever wants to buy back in - he has to buy back at a hefty loss ;-)

looks like some Persians got through the line.. fortunately though they were quickly dispatched. the line still holds...
to the the Persians..."thank you for your coins..."

Another idea - Just browsing through the latest Humble Bundle offerings and thought "Wouldn't it be great if I could purchase with Karma?"

Humble Bundle is all about paying what you think something is worth and donating to charity - It's the perfect companion for us!

Any idea what we would need to do to get something rolling there?

I hadn't thought of that, and it's a great idea. Someone needs to set up a press package for the coin that can be sent out for that. As far as I know there are no press packages atm.

We have a draft media kit on Karmacoin.me at the Press section but we would probably need a company profile or put together a proposal of how we could partner.

Basically what you need is a couple of documents:

1) Something that deals with partnerships (why people should partner with Karma, what you bring to the table, etc.)
2) Something that deals with end users (what the project is, why users matter, how you help them, etc.)
3) Something that explains the company itself (who you are, where you come from, what your goals are, etc.)
