I am just curious about how much a notary node can make a month or a year? Good luck with all the people are on the election.

between 0 and 1800KMD / Month depending how good you notarize

Thanks for the quick reply. Wow, not a bad idea to have one or multiple notary nodes. I am interested on learning more about it. Is there a good place to start on more information on the hardware requirements and etc.

Thanks again.

Hello, I am Polycryptoblog, I am a Komodo Team Member, Admin at Crypto Warriors and candidate in the 2018 Notary Node Elections.

I am currently a Notary Node Operator for the North America quadrant and am looking to seek election in the Southern Hemisphere and Asia/Russia quadrants to further real world integration and developments in Komodo ecosystem.

As a notary node operator I have used funds derived from Notary mining to pay for:

Komodo Integration with Coinpayments.net - allowing merchants to accept Komodo in their stores.

Conference Materials for the Bitcoin SuperConference in Texas as well as some materials for a conference in Barcelona

Have a Komodo History Book written: https://www.amazon.com/Komodo-Fuel-SuperNET-C…/…/ref=sr_1_1…

Advertising

Bounties.

Additionally I have pledged to use the remaining notary node funds to set up masternodes to help fund BarterDEX liquidity, after the election has concluded, in lieu of running a Komodo sweepstakes website. However, not being one to leave a good idea unfinished this year I would like to work with the CryptoWarriors group in getting a official legal giveaway/sweepstakes site up and running to further acquaint newcomers into crypto.

2018 Notary Node Election Proposal:

If I were to win additional notary node spots I propose to use the income for:

Helping CryptoWarriors get their coin established and integrated into Agama wallet and sweepstakes site running

Creating a business in the Komodo ecosystem that helps bridge the gap between the digital and real world.

Creating generators of liquidity for BarterDEX
Advertising and Bounties.

Snapshot has been taken and votes will distributed in the next few days.

Warning! Use the strong passphrases in Agama and BarterDEX.

Few days ago i did some security research with main question "How strong are passphrases used by people?" in Agama and Barterdex and seems some people were used very weak combinations as passphrase (it can be easily bruted or used by other people).
Here is a list of affected addresses:

that it means a "weak" password?

Which wallet is better ? Agama or BarterDEX ?
And what is JUMBLR and REVS and how can i get them if i have 2600 KMD on my KMD balance ?

While it does have access to daemons (local and/or electrum) and wallet functions by extension, BarterDEX itself is meant to be a trading app, not really meant for use as a layer wallet like Agama is.
JUMBLR and REVS are Komodo asset chain coins, you can buy/sell/trade/swap them like any other coins.

Decker's 2018 Notary Proposal: https://deckersu.github.io/

Who am i?

I am an IT expert and systems engineer. I’ve formed part of the Komodo team since 2017. During which time I contributed to Komodo in the form of development towards the KomodoQT (KomodoOcean) wallet - the world's first GUI wallet for a zero knowledge fork that supports KMD and all its parallel chains. Additionally I assist the team in testing and development of new dapps.

Why Vote for Decker?

In addition to the wallet development I took part in the creation of the first CHIPS wallet, building BarterDEX core for Windows. Active member of the community with plans to support the platform in the long term. Notary node funds will increase my resources to improve Komodo dapps.

Proven Skills

  • I can handle a wide spectrum of the Komodo infrastructure.
  • Deployment and support fail-safe work of KMD and parallel chain explorers, hosted on my own VDS servers.
  • Software testing, software programming.
  • Making blockchain snapshots, writing and translate documentations for users.

I’ve decided to become a candidate for the European / Asia and Russia regions and I count on your support!

We will be making a notarization based VOTE2018 bounty for NN candidates, it is after all what being a NN is all about.
Idea with testnet for NN seems very good, it allows candidates confirm their skills and learn something new about NN work, dPOW and other things. But idea with bounty for NN, if i'm understood it correctly (VOTE2018 bounty for notarizations counts in testnet, right?) - seems not so good. For example, my server declared in proposal is ready, but it will be transferred to DC in first days of April. So, now to take part pursuit for the bounty i'll need to deploy test NN in VM insfrastructure at home.

2SHossainKMD: Thx for your guides for NN testnet, i hope it will help candidates to learn the basics. Good work!

While the timing for your server is unfortunate.  I encourage you to demonstrate your proficiency with a VM,  there are participants in the testnet already notarizing beer and pizza coin.  Connection to the testnet can be slow (one node has 500 ping).  You will be at a disadvantage if you can not claim to have notarized already.  Good luck, and I hope to see your node soon.

Being a notary you have one job: to notarize.  It is essential to be proficient before joining the NN operators on the mainnet.
We have great need for dedicated and proficient operators.  Our network is being carried by only a handful of our current lot of 62 nodes, you can see evidence of this in two places:  slack's notary-nodes alarms channel (which is perpetually full of 20+ nodes failing at their job) and an assetchain notarizations counts spreadsheet which has recent sampling of notarizations showing alarming lack of participation of many nodes in what should be their ONE JOB.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1x7oNlZXyRDahesnsD1qWsaqC1LlVmEuXNIVDOVfEiHU/edit?usp=sharing

Please forgive us for incentivising our candidate future operators to prove themselves at doing precisely what we expect them to do before we actually elect them.  I believe it to be a much better method of evaluation than pretty proposals and noble promises.

I think if a candidate has past experiences of running NN , he/she can be exempted from test. I think the test should be participated by/ focused  on new candidates instead. Of course if current NN operators want to participate, they can.

KMD notarization TX explanation

As we are know, we have a "test notaries" that notarized BEER and PIZZA chains. This post is a small try to get some explanation of the process. For example, we have this TX: http://beer.komodochainz.info/tx/3032e51cad28bf05ac39682c61ad592b0c75144825f0f4f7dc98d886898fbf84 in which we see 11 notaries, included my RARcozaVAMZaXJaL6KWMSw297xTYzbDwa3. Let's look "under the hood" of this tx:
Code:
