and is there any idea of when ..Simple atomic swaps with minimal user interaction! will be implemented?
Be lucky everyone!
They are currently updating the backend tech called Marketmaker. When that is finished by end of year end or early next, it should be dead simple for anyone to perform Atomic Swaps, which in turn, will make HyperDEX (and other platforms using Komodo's BarterDEX system) simple to use. That may be the right time to advertise. When the update is complete I believe many will flock to HyperDEX to become liquidity providers without any advertisement.
At the moment BarterDEX term can refer to two things:
1) BarterDEX back end: the back end technology that other applications connect to. It involved the atomic swap process and decentralized order matching (referred as 'Market Maker').
2) BarterDEX front end: GUI application that has been used in public tests to improve the performance of the BarterDEX back end.
HyperDEX is a project that is building a front end to BarterDEX back end. This project is working on product for normal users, where as the BarterDEX front end project was used mainly for testing purposes.
HyperDEX backend can have any number of DEX applications that are using the underlying technology Komodo created. Expect to see more and more projects that use our atomic swap tech. In other words, all the DEX dApps that user our tech share the same pool of liquidity, which at the end will create a network effect.
What about the status of the project?
Currently the BarterDEX back end is using 'Market Maker 1.0' technology. We have a dedicated developer team working on upgrading this code base, which will further enhance the underlying technology. The upgrade will make the order mach process very reliable. We anticipate that the adoption of the technology can start after the Market Maker 2.0 has been released and tested.
