Will dump this immediately and never look back, thanks for the free money that's about to come in  Cool

So how exactly are you gonna 'dump' your coins when there's no supporting exchange?  Grin

That's what I'd like to know as well.
LCC dev said they're talking to exchanges but cant mention any names

Not even their own names, why?

Just WHY?

There is no fast, cheap SHA256 coin with good difficulty adjustment. SHA256 miners have little practical choice of hashpower destination, and if they do mine blocks they're being paid in a currency with 10 minute block times.

We believe we can offer an excellent SHA256 coin for general usage. We love Litecoin, and wanted to give something to the brave hodler community. With everyone else too busy forking Bitcoin, we decided that the Litecoin blockchain was a perfect means of intial distribution for our coin.

Ever hear of Digibyte. sha256 scrypt as well as GPU algo and already really fast. This fork looks like just another money grab.

I will do agree that if the developers were so much capable and smart enough they were coming out with something original and better than Litecoin. They chose the easiest way for them to fork a coin which is already being developed by active team. I was supporting if they weer building something from scratch. It will be seen as one folk mentioned above easiest way of making some quick bucks.

this fork is completely unnecessary. the only reason why this fork is happening is because the "devs" want to earn money. they will premine 1% and dump these coins as soon as an exchange opens a trading pair.

or do you really thing that you can do something with this coin other than dumping? hoping to find somebody that hopes to be able to dump on.....

Tanner [LitecoinCash]: Yes, we are actively negotiating with several exchanges. It wouldn’t be fair for me to name any names at this point.

Anarchy is not chaos.
What will we see this time? Stolen private keys, non working wallets, no support from exchanges, noob devs? It'll be a fun time.

Frankly, if you get your private keys stolen and there's anything in them, that's your fault. Do your due dilligence.

Me, I'll take the free coins and hope the project goes somewhere. But long before that private key gets exposed to a new network, it will be EMPTY of litecoin. Hell, I created a wallet specifically for this, so I can move them all back to my main wallet after the chain is live and the fork confirmed.

After that, I'll fire up the LCC wallet and import the (now empty) private key, sweep it, and shred it, never to be used again.

You should do the same.

Who knows? Bitcoin Gold looked super scammy, FUD all around, and still doing OK...maybe not great, but there are worse coins around there

depending on how the fork goes, it may be smart to wait to claim

im not 100% sure how replay protection works but i dont want to be moving around any of that LCC if its going to do anything to my coins on legacy LTC chain..

Also for anyone who is holding LTC for litepay I encourage you to do some more research on whats coming this year for litecoin

I'm not his lawyer but for the following questions:

a) Does this fork offer a significant improvement other than "you will be able to use old mining hardware" ?
b) Is this altcoin registered in any exchange ?
c) Is this a fork without premined coins ?
d) Is there a whitepaper describing the theory and technicalities ?
e) Is the team behind this fork transparent (their full names, first and last provided) ?

If the answer to most of the above questions is "no" then there are reasons enough to call this fork a scam.

What kind of scam ? Dunno. Here's a wild guess: Some people announce this fork and make some noise (in social media) in order to pump litecoin (which they have cheaply purchased before the announcement). Price goes up. They sell when price is up. Everyone understands that this fork is stupid and useless. Price goes again down. They buy back their LTC at a huge discount. PROFIT!

Now, this is much better post  Grin

As I'm holding some LTC too, I won't reject some free coin, but I have some reservations too, and certainly won't be first
to run LCC wallet...

However, I'm bit tired reading "because Charlie Lee said so" posts...same thing was happening during every BTC fork, too

Same here, I won’t be first out of the gate to collect, but I will collect the FREE coins to exchange into LTC

Why don't you release the offline wallets before announcing this fork ?

So, will we be able to solo mine this with the windows wallet?  If so, is there documentation out there?  Doesn't seem like there is enough info available at the moment...
