epic fail diff switch

Fix coming very soon, switcher pools to blame not coin, but coin will adapt rather than die....

One of the joys of having a active dev that knows what he is doing and didn't just use coinogen!

Its the same thing faced by a lot of alts, they are also implementing the gravity well or so it seems reading their threads.  New coins that are being released are having it built in from the start now.  Hopefully this will be the end of the multipools, and they will be stuck mining the old coins.

I doubt it will stop them, but when they then switch coin it will stop the rest of us getting shafted

Its multipools and their incessant raping of all alt coins.

When the difficulty drops to 40, then it is a hugely profitable coin to mine.  So the multipools jump on, the hash rate goes very high, and blocks are found very quickly, with the bulk of the coins going to the pools.  They keep mining all the way through the 40 difficulty which takes no time given the hash rate.  Once it changes and goes to difficulty of 130/140, the pools dissapear as they cant find coins as quickly.

They can then dump a load of coins on the exchange, killing the value and leaving a high difficulty.

This the leaves everyone else behind on around 2MH/s working through the blocks - average time for a block goes to around 3 or 4 minutes because the multipools pushed up the difficulty.  Then when it comes back down, they join again and blocks are found about every 30 seconds.  Gravity well should be compulsory for all coins to kill off these morons.

Hi all,

I have been mining at leaf.hash.so for several days and today i just realised when I compare in the estimation "coins/day" showed at the pool it is half of if i calculated manually with the "block_reward/(difficulty*2^32/hashs_per_sec/3600/24)" formula.
As comparison, i checked their SMC pool and the number showed right.

Anybody know if Is this an error in the web script or the pool actually take half of the coins earned ?

Thanks

https://leaf.hash.so/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

The pool has probably not updated their calculations to take into account the new block reward size.  One pool was using 0.75 the max reward value as a basis too, which should have been 0.5, this gave a false impression on the number of coins that could be mined.

In that case (not updated their calculations) the only way to check is by the amount of coins that the miners received ?

nah it isnt... hardly.

we have a fix ready.

just needs testing.

dont wanna launch something bad and destroy a coin that has much potential.

so we double check everything.

we have been smooth in updates and we would like to stay that way.

I have a problem with this coin.
Present difficulty is 34.18957253, but when I run cgminer 3.7.2, the difficulty is 136?
Where is a problem? Does anyone have answer?

pretty sure the info you have is wrong..

Current Difficulty    136.75829013
Est. Next Difficulty    97.79888266 (Change in 226 Blocks)

Info is not wrong. I looked at 3 different pools and I have the same value. In the moment Net hash rate jumps form 2.4 to 10.5 and then difficulty jumps instantly form 34 to 136 ?!?!?! Doesn't matter the number of    Est. Next Difficulty (around 70)   (Change in 229 Blocks) !?!?! I do not understand how it is possible.
If you see now difficulty is 136 and Est Next Difficulty   89.49933466 (Change in 222 Blocks), Net hash rate is 6.41

thats strange the diff i got was from leaf.updamoon
I dont think diff has touched 35 in quite awhile... usually 50 plus

if i am not mistaken the diff before the current 136 was about 154 or so... it just dropped to 136 as network hash dropped from 10 to 6.. and is now around 5.5 gh

Now you can see difficulty.

Difficulty   136.75829013
Est Next Difficulty   41.23854846 (Change in 200 Blocks)

Network hash rate is 2.95 and it it constantly going down. At the moment when change in N blocks (N around 5) and new difficulty is set, last change was around 36-37, net hash rate instantly jumps to more than 10GH/s and difficulty automatically set to 136. It is doesn't matter the data "Change in 230 Blocks" ?!?!?
But when network hash rate is going down, we need to wait all 200 block?!?!

Does someone can explain me how it is possible? How is it possible that at the moment network hash rate instantly jumps to more that 10GH/s and only in the time when difficulty is low? Someone is making some kind of game or what?

that's the config I constructed ... but still not syncing.. 3 days  flatlined... I wish I never upgraded ...lol
from now on, before I upgrade I transfer my coins to the exchange for safe keep ... this is sooooo stressful !

As Ya said it is strange and if you copy/paste content from your config it is one of posible problems(it shuld be addnode=5.199.149.228:22812) .
Did you try my advice from previous post? You can try older version of wallet and after syncing you can change oledr for new version. Check your firewall as mcg said.

why is there a "G" on the end of your LEAFCOIN.CONF ?  Its not LEAFCOIN.CONFG

Can you try another pc?  Just install the latest version of the wallet, let it update and then copy over your wallet.dat - see if that works?   If it does, then the issue must be on your current pc.

What is the difference between kimoto and difficulty retarget evey block?  Aren't they just the same thing?

Looking at blocks found, diff hit 35 a few hours ago, multipoolds joined and we burned through the blocks in no time until next diff change.

I can't wait until all coins have gravity and kill off these mindless multipool drones.

Short version: difficulty retarget every block means that 2 blocks found in rapid succession wil pump the difficulty very high. With Kimoto's, difficulty changes every block, but it takes more than the previous block into account, thus "smoothing" the change.
