I read an article about lisk speculation and the main concerns are that they haven't delivered anything and control has been passed over to a cartel. So far it's all talk and no substance which is tuning investors away. Can one of these at least be resolved by end of this year?
I can confirm most of the facts that post however I dont agree with some of it.
The Elite cartel and others endorsing Salaried LiskHQ employees after 2 past issues with the same situation is saddening. Then they add forging "Supporters" to a special pleb list which actually makes the 54 member cartel 66 of 101.
Highest paying share pool is losing because of
1. Greed. (The Cartels are just getting bigger as they force you to vote their way)
.... as long as you let them do this to you, the rewards will stay small
2. bad math (people wont take the time to calculate and think for themselves),
3. Nonparticipation (Most stakers dont even vote, and the ones that do, don't have time to keep up with all the delegate dramas),
You want bigger rewards? Vote in delegates willing to pay a higher share, it's really that simple.
Only lisk holders can change this stuff... and LiskHQ arguably, but with an HQ salaried employee now being allowed to forge it's getting out of hand; eerily centralized in that sense.
IMHO, if something isn't done soon, it will only get worse. As you saw over past weeks, leaving the cartel results in a fatwa campaign against your delegate by the cartel, so nobody has the balls to break away, once you "agree" to support elite, you've basically screwed everyone involved with Lisk, including yourself, because you just guaranteed you can never escape the cartel.
Now add greed... would you rather stay quiet and submissive, and share only 25% with voters?... Or offer larger reward, take less, reward voters more?
Now from voters perspective, he doesn't give a damn, he's looking for the best combo of votes to get paid right now, meanwhile, voting tools are rigged to lie to them, not sharing updated information, the tool you use being hosted by a member of "cartel x" so it reflects whatever half-truth or lie they want it to.
This whole DPoS thing is being allowed to poision itself, and being nurtured to do so because of greed and mismanagement on so many levels.
With all that said, I somehow still have faith that Team Lisk will create a platform that will be heavily used, even moreso than ETH.
I've been here since day one, seen every bug there is, saw the development 1st hand, had plenty a part testing releases in both alpha and beta.
To say crypti code was inherited is fair, but theres literally almost nothing left of that original code, while the chain has been kept running this whole time (other than the fail-safe mechanism) It's quite a technological achievement.
