Was there a swap?
Maybe I'm dumb or just lost in the thought process. Back in late November 2017, I originally downloaded the wallet from the original ANN (https://github.com/madcoin-project/madcoin/files/1338744/madcoin-0.8.7.4-win32-setup.zip)
Once I joined the discord and updated my wallet, it give me an error: Warning! error reading wallet.dat. All keys read correctly, but transaction data or address book data may be missing or incorrect.
Any help would be appreciated.

addnodes command is used to add further connections to your wallet/masternodes
Blockchain is a network of nodes. If your node has no connection or only bad ones, it could have issues synchronizing with the network. And since it wont recognize always all the nodes itself, it can be manually added
