Almost done!

CSS & other static elements are fixed. Had to rewrite apache2's vhost configuration.
I now have to fine-tune ABE's configuration as it sometimes returns 500 Internal Server Error when it takes too long to load or search through the blockchain.

Still gotta load 2 months worth of blocks:
Code:
{
"version" : "v1.0.0.0",
"protocolversion" : 60013,
"walletversion" : 60000,
"balance" : 34188.13015538,

}

Next... a VPS that's cheap & has enough resources Huh

Are you planning on reviving this coin? If so where can we donate - and may as well start a new thread. I don't like mother fudkers so I have been buying at about a 25-30% premium on current price.

Dude don't buy. This coin is dead. Dev left. PR left. Nobody cares for community takeover.

The community would obviously care about a community takeover, we just need talented coders that care and are willing to invest their time into it. The market exists & the community exists; someone will eventually take it. Though the coin is expendable, someone could take this coin and build upon it or make a new coin with the same purpose.

I think we need to consider our resources as a community, so that we at least know if we could successfully take it and continue with the E-sports ideal.
Then we would have to specify a point at which we give up on the current developers and sponsor new ones, since we really don't know what the current devs are doing.

A copy of any 'anon' would have been ok. Most traders wouldn't know anyway if it works or not.
They see anon and they trade. They don't use it anyway to send & retrieve from/to exchanges.

If POSA was the premium choice, and I liked that idea very much, implementing it as-is without modifications would have bought them some time to concentrate and fund betting development. Once betting was up & running, adding new games could be a side-task for a dedicated dev, while the others concentrate on what they intended to do with POSA. Everyone would have been satisfied over volume, price, features and support.

Yes, exactly right, but I don't think the devs got the message. They were likely trying to develop a true-anon (lol) or at least create their own pseudo-anon from scratch, though I can't confirm this because they do not give updates. When I read their anon paper at first I freaked out because no one had done POSA at the time and I knew it would be a mess :/  Also, Cloakcoin had a POSA paper out but no code. I think it took them a few months of development to release a POSA v1 and then the price went to hell right after so idk, maybe the devs saw that as a bad omen.

Went to the restaurant with friends for a few hours and roughly finished the configuration.
All block were downloaded, but have some issues preparing the postgresql db. It is currently loaded ~3000 block in the explorer. I'll look into the db issue later on, but here's what I've got until now. CSS & graphics etc need to be polished & corrected, but I'll try getting the stuff up & running without warnings or errors in the log files first Smiley

Don't bother connecting, the domain doesn't exist except on my laptop & vm Wink

I'm going to sleep now. I can't promise I'll go on all day with it tomorrow, but will certainly work on it in the evenings during the week. To be continued...

I think we will see a comeback, maybe dev has some problems. Job done here was extraordinary, so I doubt that this project it's done here.

I left for a few weeks to travel the country I come home, and the minerals coin has been thrashed. I sold before I left THANK GOD!.

Two things:
1. I'm going to buy as much as I can today, and further. If those pictures, and the last few posts something that is going to materialize, they look good.
2. 0 connections on the wallet? Anyone connected. I have version 1.0.0 just downloaded and connected to my old wallet. (Nevermind 13 connections)

Guys that I want to tell.

You look. That we have:

1) Brand having popularity in the cryptoworld
2) Reputation of an innovative product
3) Community which trusts in coin prospects
4) The concept possessing high potential
5) Functioning platform of a bet
6) Quoting at the largest cryptoexchanges
7) Third-party information support

I have ideas of system of tournaments and stream (twitch tv) for minerals, concepts of redesign of a wallet and some other works.

Here I will lay out some screens of new conceptual design. These are sketches of a wallet of version 2.0.

[snip]

I believe that regardless of a situation the project should be developed. Prospects of the project are obvious. Without hurrying, gradually to fill an empty niche of e-sports betting. The foundation is laid. It isn't enough coins having such weight in the cryptoworld. It is necessary to use this obvious opportunity and the coin will feed the owners many years. All problems in this life can be solved.

Stronci, these are very nice concepts you're showing (^_^)b
It looks like an awful lot of work however. Does this mean time is ripe for a community takeover?

I'm experimenting with a few things in a Linux VM atm.
I hope to get a Minerals block explorer up & running. I've prepared a web server incl. virtual hosts (first time ever), had a look at python (runtime) and installed required deps and addons. Currently adding X11 support.

Before taking on the actual block explorer, the chain still has to be downloaded using Mineralsd, more setup & rtfm and then start loading the DB. No idea how long it's gonna take, as I'm doing this on a 6yo laptop ^^"

Should it work, I might need to change my hosting package into VPS hosting to get this thing online :x

Code:
@nightminerals:~/bitcoin-abe-master$ ~/Wallets/Minerals/Mineralsd getinfo
{
    "version" : "v1.0.0.0",
    "protocolversion" : 60013,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 0.00000000,
    "newmint" : 0.00000000,
    "stake" : 0.00000000,
    "blocks" : 92159,
    "timeoffset" : -3,
    "moneysupply" : 26946095.61437470,
    "connections" : 7,
    "proxy" : "",
    "ip" : "91.176.134.236",
    "difficulty" : {
        "proof-of-work" : 74.15099844,
        "proof-of-stake" : 0.00541733
    },
    "testnet" : false,
    "keypoololdest" : 1410012423,
    "keypoolsize" : 101,
    "paytxfee" : 0.00001000,
    "mininput" : 0.00000000,
    "errors" : ""
}
Still 270000 blocks to index by the wallet... Then only I can start with the Explorer setup.

Great idea (don't like the pictures, but its not important), lot of work to do, how much time do you think this could take? Do you have a background developing coins? Maybe You should take over this coin

Everyone Calm Down...

The depressed price is a good thing, time to get more cheap Minerals Coins.

Developing a coin takes plenty of time, and effort. There are obvious kinks in the coding so give it time to work that out.

Investing a few hundred dollars at this price point seems like a solid bet.

*sigh*

please dont lure noobs now just coming in to buy a dying coin.

seriously read the last few pages..especially 449-451

Solid bet? the only anon feature we got is anon devs... no activity since several weeks, do you have info about something we don't know or you just want to sell your coins?

Eureka. Finally someone understands the bigger picture. If there was a rating system on this forum I would have given your post 5 stars.

Devs, if you read this can you still follow this advice?

For interest sake. Look at the coins by volume on Bittrex and see if you can find a feature that is common between them. Do you now see why certain recommendation were made to keep volume and price up but was ignored until so late in the process? E-betting dev work could have been financed that way and devs would not have become demotivated (if that is what they have become)

Do you really think E-betting would be any harder than a true anon though? It took 2 weeks for them to know that it wasn't working out; if it takes months to develop it, they should just stick to slowly rolling out E-betting features and hyping them. I agree anon would work, but working the E-sports angle would work just as well and be more on point for what the coin intended to be.

I agree with you. But it has come out now it seems, that the dev team does not have the appetite to work with a low value coin for a extended period of time. It seems they have been bluffing that they have enough funds to carry the dev work until the coin can carry itself or they have funds but simply don't want to wait that long. E-betting is not that difficult, but getting it implemented and adopted would take long in crypto time which few people have the appetite for including it seems the devs. I posted it a few times a couple of pages back that if they struggle. Drop anon and carry on with the e-betting although at a 100-300 sats range for another few months until things can pick up. It is all about if the devs have the funds and the appetite to stick with things through to the end.

Another thing, no-one said true anon is needed. The coins at the top atm have some sort of quasi anon. That was all that is needed to buy some time.

The main issue here is that development should work in tandem to promotion - tournaments could have been sponsored by minerals to improve publicity - as long as minerals can be bought and sold it can be used as a currency.

Yep, the problem is that the devs were not willing to sponsor tournaments in hopes of a long-term profit return. They spent money on one, then decided it was too much money and ran off. At this point no community member trusts them enough to sink their money into a tournament either b/c they won't even talk to us.

Now there's nothing to promote really, as we don't know if there is any development occurring.
