So... to start solo mining when the windows wallet comes out, I have to:
- run it with "--server" command
- set the rpcallowip in the .conf file to "localhost"
- set username and password
- set up cgminer to use these settings
Is this all I need to do? I'm new to solo mining and I would be grateful if somebody could confirm/correct that. Thanks is advance!
Also, what port should I use?
I wrote a solo-mining setup guide for QQcoin here: solo mining guide

It will basically be the same just change the ports (when confirmed), your UN and password (can be anything) and add node addresses.

How the heck pools know what kind of scrypt miner is gonna be used?

They'll know once they get and compile the source and plug it in their mining pools (so it may take a minute or two after the release for the pools to start functioning). But the devs have said in the first post "Algorithm: scrypt". So the algo is known in advance

If they'll put in some nasty surprise (like using scrypt-jane with some obscure parameters), then I'll guess the rocket won't make it to the moon and will just explode on the launch pad in a huge ball of fire.

A message to all users of HashAddicts.net:

Support is available from #HashAddicts on FreeNode.

If you cannot login to the website then please contact us on IRC and we'll get you sorted. We're also ensuring that any locked accounts are automatically, regularly, unlocked before the launch. If you cannot login then contact us, or try again in a little while.

Also, if you have visited both moon.hashaddicts.net and hashaddicts.net ltc pool, and logged into both, then clear all cookies before attempting to login to the moon pool again. If this doesn't work, contact support.

So i just use this on multipool

stratum+tcp://pool1.eu.multipool.us:3358  ?

Is that right?

Cheers

that's what I have too

Is it confirmed that multipool moon EU server will work at launch?

Even if it doesnt set it up as your mail pool if thats the nearest. and fallback to US

Is this confirmed to be the right port and node address?

yep. You can also use 127.0.0.1 instead of local host. both work though.

Make sure you set the rpcport in the conf file and the cgminer bat file.

How do I mine this with Cudaminer?

Will reward for help with MOON accordingly.

First you must register on one of the pools.
For example, if you register on MoonCoinPool.com, in the cudaminer folder, you must create a file.bat (for example Moon.bat). In this file, you edit and paste that :
cudaminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://mooncoinpool.com:3334 -u Youraccountnameonthepool.yourworkernameontheppol-p yourworkerpasswordonthepool
