What is OrangeCoin?"Welcome to
Orangecoin, an innovative and adaptive new age cryptocurrency available to everyone.
With its ease of use, security and developing program, Orangecoin looks to take the lead in cryptocurrency progress and diversity."
We continue this mission statement to show what a humble community is capable of doing, that anything is possible.
Orangecoin is a combination of POW distribution with POS minting to secure the network.
Orangecoin distribution started on April 27, 2014 with a limited 2 week mining period, which ended May 13, 2014.
After the initial release of 50 million coins, POS interest will be earned at a rate of 20% in the first year, 10% in the second year,
5% in the third year down to a constant 2.5% interest.
Rewarding users for holding their coins for long term investments with strong percentage returns,
this process is called Minting and this is how the Proof of Stake network works.
