Why should I mine this?
You can cpu mine this and score big time. But as what will eventually happen you'll have to use GPU's and then ASICs.Best to get in on the ground floor.
We also want to merge mine with bitcoin and namecoin. Anyone able to help with this?

Can you provide more detail? Any pools, exchanges, etc... Also this coin seems to be affiliated with a centralized organization...? Curious.
Yes there was some discussion about whether or not a central authority should be able to offer some kind of refund if someone loses their coins. However that was scrapped, and this is a pure P2P network, like bitcoin.
