I never heard of a place .02 electricity.  Washington State .08,   even Sweden max .06

In our Iran we pay less than 0.01 USD/Kwh for Industry usage.
I may accept to host miners soon.
What do you guys think?

Need to report S2 1TH/S Batch 3 hardware issue here.  My first ASIC miner purchase, and you guys had such big name here. It seems that I can never make the gap between Batch 3 and Batch 4 given current hardware issue... :-).  My order id is 00120140427064424805kx9d0G7b0686, placed on Apr 27, you can confirm that.

To be honest, I am very impressed by your fast shipping rate!

  • LCD panel not working
  • Never reached 1Th/S, started around 992Mh/S, then displayed "x" errors after 2 hours. Reboot won't solve it. Over time, more "------------" or "xxx---xx-x" shows up, hashrate constantly dropped as low as about 850Mh/s.

I hope, when you recieved it, that you opened up the case and made sure all the blades were aligned and everything was plugged in correctly. First thing I do whenever I receive something this valuable thats been shipped all the way from China via those apes that call themselves express carriers.

Heck I even took every blade out and wiped off all the excess TIM that had oozed out from between the card and the heatsink, and then cleaned off any TIM I found on the backside of the blade, because it was pretty much on every blade, often on the traces and connectors, and that stuff can short components out.

Are you even going to try pricing them reasonably?  One order of these = ~6 S1's, except at around 3x the price.

Reasonable under what parameters I feel is a mater of market price.

At least is my own opinion.

Obviously they are novelty items and will never return the price paid, but even for novelty it's pricey, especially with the MOQ as well as prices on their other hardware.  Current product lineup is basically S1 (won't ROI, but cheap), S2 (might ROI, competitive), and U2 (hahahaha, what was the price?).  There isn't much competition for USB units, but I'd assume they actually want people to buy these things for as little as they are likely making.  I've got a USB array back from the AM days so that I can put around 200 units online in ~15 minutes if I can fill it with super-cheap sticks like these.

I disagree with your S1/S21 assessment.  I think an S1 is more likely to ROI than an S2 at this point.  That said, I do have cheaper power than most, so although the percentages are the same, the actual dollar amount is different.

At the end of the day I never sell my bitcoins anyway, so who cares, lol.

The parameter for this define this is the electricity cost in some places may be 0.02 cents per Kw in others 0.26 cents per Kw, we are close to the point where is an electricity and operational costs game.

.482 with coupon... and looks like there hasn't been hardly ANY rashrate added in the past 3 days.  I know it was the weekend, but still, thats unusual.  I'm hoping we don't hit 25B by the end of the year.  I might be able to keep my mining gear on as more than just a heater in the winter!

Had 3 S1 received yesterday.
One of them had problem with it's Fan!
Everything was ok but Fan was not working so mining is not starting, I understand that There is 0 Temperature shown on the Miner Status always.
I changed the Fan connector from Blade one to Blade two and now everything is going ok.

I hope these thing don't happen again, Just to let others know about this issue.

How could this happen, the S1 can start without having any fan connected.

I don't know exactly why, first it's turned on and worked for about 5 min and mined. But I understand that it's fan is not working but after that it failed and do not mine until I connected the fan to other Blade.

Maybe temp sensor is off, so software wont start fan while temp is low...

Thanks,

temp sensor off or failed?

How can I turn on temp sensor if it's for any reason off?

Possibly some chips are not pinned correctly

thats the most unlikely thing.

1) reboot the unit. sometimes a reboot reads all the chips properly while using the PSU to power on/off causes initial voltage jumps and takes a second to charge all the capacitors.
2) check for anything damaged - primarily the capacitors.

Its usually power related. I had a unit arrive on friday with a capacitor snapped off and when booting via PSU on/off it registers most of the chips as 'x' and/or marks them dead/missing.  However, a reboot via the webUI causes the system to initiate will all 32 chips on that board working normally

How do you explain the lower hashrate.  You can have some x and full speed still.

Poster did not indicate how unit was powered on and off.

Also indicated psu was fine.

Could be anything wrong, needs to test and narrow down possibilities.

I never had any electronic component hardware faults on any of my S1's.  The only issue that I found on a couple of them (especially on the last one received about a week ago) is that some of the screws holding the blade printed circuit boards to the heatsinks were not fully screwed in.  I made it part of the normal set-up check list to go with an Allen wrench and gently tighten all those screws.  In the worst case there was about 1 turn, but many had 1/4 turn or so  (don't overdo it, just finger tight).  A system restart sometimes cures the 'x's, especially if your PSU is marginal.  Adding a second fan in 'pull' position and possibly small heatsinks on the blade ASIC IC's may also help with cooling.

Cheers

I'll try a reboot this evening. You were right, I rebooted via PSU.
Also I'll take a close look at the chips and the capacitors.

We'll see and hope... thx

20+ antminers and never a single bad chip. I had a regulator die and cause chips to not power (bitmain did an RMA) and recently had one arrive with a loose capacitor (see prior post). Never a dead chip and I dont know if anyone has reported that happening.

the x's dont mean much - whats important is the chips it actually detects and this is not always the same as the number of x/o marked chips. A software reboot should fix the problem when a hardware reboot doesn't
