So my "adventure" with bitmain & sushi continues.

Well, finally, for me it's just easier to assume that bitmain & sushi scammed 8.5btc out of me.

Sorry about your loss.  In retrospect it would have been better to have sold them on ebay, or on this forum, or have them shipped to a local colocation provider.  EU buyers are being slugged 20% GST/VAT on imports from China, perhaps the reverse is true when shipping hardware there. Maybe China customs can send them back to you.

Two of my orders are still showing as unconfirmed.  One I ordered yesterday and another one today.

No responses to any email messages asking for an update.

Just thinking ... what would Amazon.com have done if their web site was showing unconfirmed but paid-for orders?  Would they simply leave them as "expired"?  Would they not return any of the customer inquiries?  Would they allow customers to keep making more purchases while being fully aware that there is a serious problem with their ordering system?

Perhaps in our pursuit of bitcoin, we have become sufficiently accepting of mediocre sales practices and non-existent customer support?  Are we putting such a low bar on how we should expect businesses that accept bitcoin to behave that many of us keep repeating "trust BitMain", "they are going to make this right"?

I remember how everyone was just so upset that DirectTV or Dell customer service agents were in India and had an accent.  Now we are all just fine with no customer service number of any kind and unanswered emails.  Heck, I'd love to talk to a BitMain customer service agent anywhere, India, China, Indonesia, anywhere.  Someone who can tell me "don't worry, your order will be fulfilled within 1 business day".  "I know our system is down and we are working on it ... we will put periodic updates on our site".  Nope.  Too much to ask for.

Even Overstock that accepts bitcoin.  Sure, they have customer service ... but if I pay with bitcoin -- no refunds if I need to return an item.  No problem with refunds if I paid by Credit Card.  Is that the promise of Bitcoin?  A sub-standard service that makes me wish I used my credit card instead?  And we are rewarding these retailers with business?

I sure hope that all of us in the Bitcoin community demand better.  We can all start with BitMain.

So my "adventure" with bitmain & sushi continues.

Currently units already delivered more than 2 month ago back to bitmain in china, and they're still not on hosting. No refunds either.

At first sushi answer was like

4 february > "Due to the chinese holiday, we can't get the returned miners setup in the hosting"

Ok, waiting. Finally, now he states

22 february > "The returned units to China, There were $700 USD fee by the Chinese Customs... so until that is taken care of it may never make it to the hosting." , ""Let me see what I can do with the tax but I highly doubt that Bitmain will release the unit for hosting without the tax paid that is almost $1400 USD.... That's over 2 BTC..."

I didn't noticed on tracking that the package was stopped by china customs, it's just passed without additional clearance! Also i was not informed in january when the units was received by bitmain side that i needed to pay that "import fees" in order to start hosting. And that "imaginary fees" just for "releasing" my early december units is comparable now to the another 2 NEW units.

22 february > "We can't issue the miner REFUND but the options we have is to host to reduce the loss on your part."

Great. So no refunds and they suggest me to pay them even more to have a chance "to reduce the loss" on my part?
These 2 units will never generate back 8.5btc by mining, and more than 3 month of mining is lost already.

I have not received any new info regarding this situation with my units or workaround suggests from sushi & bitmain since then.

Well, finally, for me it's just easier to assume that bitmain & sushi scammed 8.5btc out of me.

Guys what is up with this. On my wallet in coinbase, it says I withdrew 0.988 nut when I look at Bitmaintech it only says 0.987. Is that okay?

Link us the txid and we can try to figure it out.  That's too high to be a transaction fee though.  Tx fees are 0.0001 BTC.

Hello, and thanks for the heads up! This is definitely related to an issue on Blockchain.info, and not the actual bitcoin blockchain. We’re working to resolve this issue, and you can stay up to date on the latest via our Twitter page and our blog - https://blog.blockchain.com/. Thanks!
