Actually I'm very careful of the pools now. I mined APP coin at release from one of the pools the devs listed and the pool shut down with all my coins and disappeared.
With that said, stick with the official one or one that is well known and trusted.

I see many pools that do that. We have an email list that goes out with all our updates and pool closing. We always let users remove coins before closing.

Yes, 10-15 minutes before launch for pools to set up.
bad move, 5 mins max, one of these will jump the start and ruin the launch....never trust pool owners one will jump early ... happens everytime they get source before launch
We'll take your advice and err on the side of caution and make it closer to 5 mins than 10 or 15. Between 3:05 and 3:10 UTC probably.
Never believe everything you read either. Not all pool owners are jerks.

I use cgwatcher too but have never seen an option for delayed mining

then press "schedule" tab and set restart mining 1 minute after the launch

You can just setup your miners in a pool like ours and start mining. It will just retry to connect ever 30 seconds. When the pool starts, so does your miner.
