You didn't miss anything....the free airdrop lasts for 6 months and you can still join the signature campaign to get free coins. By the way if you took some time to read the OP you would of have known this.
Thank you for posting this. You didn't miss anything indeed. The signature campaign will be availabe for 6 months. With an active PI signature you can receive free PI dayli. You only missed the early supporter bonus
picoindev, when it will be possible check my rank in shareholders list (it's #2), and do not forget early supporter bonus please.
this line should be corrected:
picoinsupport and me will have a talk this evening. I hope he did the checks on forum ranks/active signatures
As soon as i have the updated informations i'll put them on the ANN.
joined airdrop
the wallet already release? sorry im delay sir
Wallet release is scheduled for the 12th of march. We have had some problems with the POW implementation but it seems like "only" difficulty retargeting needs some fixing. Most visual bugs are sorted out so it seems like we can have a nice beta test this week with some community based nodes on the testnet.
Added signature to my profile...what now?
Please check your signature, its not correct. As a newbie you also need 10 activity points for being able to join the signature campaign.
Just wanted to ask how is this coin useful for the community?
I've read the OP but I don't really understand how, I know PI applies to all including to cryptocurrencies particularly the ICO but how can this be useful to crypto coins, can you elaborate all these?
I have had my first contact with bitcoin back in 2011 but i was only reading about it. In 2013 i started to mine BTC and after that LTC and many many other coins. Most of the early altcoins i farmed have been pure POW coins, followed by some complete free coins like Bitcointalkcoin, Coffeecoin,... One of the problem cryptucurrencies, or to be more special, altcoins have is the lack of trust. The developers (some are honest, some are sadly not) are collecting BTC from ICOs, "preinvestment" or what ever name they put there. Some coins come out, and some other coins don't.
This was not the feeling i had when mining... Switching the miners on, mining with CPU, GPU and everything you have... This was a very special feeling for me.
So one idea of PI is it, to have a complete free coin distribution pared with POW mining. We think, that we can reach many many users and grow a strong and big community with this. PI is perfect for new people on the cryptoworld because they can get some coins for free, test exchanges, learn more about blockchain, etc. On the other hand PI is also attractive to more experienced users, because of some nice features comeing in the future (told this several times, it is way to early to say what features will/might be comeing in the future) and also because a complete risk free distribution. Miners can also mine and experience the real mining feeling (CPU/GPU miners know what i am talking about, that feeling when your GPU hits the first block
)
So currently our main goals are:
- grow a community which likes PI because of it's concept
- have a fully working wallet. We didn't focus on a "shiny" wallet. It is looking more or less like a "default" wallet which will receive visual updates in the future
- have a smooth start and start paying out PI from bounties and signature campaign
- get PI on an exchange
We
do not focus on:
- makeing the DEVs rich by collecting money
- makeing promises we can't hold (for example saying we are completely bypassing and makeing DNS absolet. This would be indeed a very nice feature but i am almost 100% sure that we
can't do this)
So for makeing this a short version: What do you have to risk/lose? How many new coins are out there with a dev team being such active? I am watching several altcoins, have experienced losses on mtgox.com, mintpal.com, cryptsy.com and smaller altcoin exchanges and i also lost BTC on "cloudmining" services (
small hint: DO NOT USE CLOUDMINING SERVICES). I got (like many others) scammed on ICOs, where devs have promised so many shiny things and what happened? Yes right, not much or the devs took our money and went away. So i know how hard the cryptoworld can be. And yes,
a few people can make a difference. And our answer is
PiCoin. We have many ideas, some of them are more easy to implement and for some others it will need a lot of time, maybe even with help from some other devs.
