liife threw a tempest at you? be a coconut !
I set up my wallet today and transferred some PIVX to it, encrypted it, and edited the config file, it started staking OK after this, I then made some transfers out and into the wallet, upon closing and reopening the wallet it won't stake, any suggestions as to what I should do ? Does the config file have to be in any particular folder for staking to work ? I am new to this.

The wallet is unlocked for staking btw.
Did you wait for 101 confirmations since last transactions? Make sure you do that first, and then restart client/wallet.

Thanks, I didn't wait for 101 confirmations, where are the confirmations shown in the wallet ? So, if I didn't do that what should I do now ?

Settings, Wallet, and click Enable coin control features, then on the send tab you can click inputs and see it.

Peace not piece.
I have just lost the link on pivx.org where it was written about some 4.7% return per year or something like that.. any clue?

DRPD

I checked PIVX white paper and I highly recommend everybody to read it first. It clarified all the questions in my mind regarding Staking and MN.

Actually its see-saw algo which stables the reward between MN and St so its not always win-win for MN like in case of Dash.

So, I see PIVX next and improved version of Dash. Wow! I discovered it relatively early than Dash (I'm still newbie in crypto world).

yes i forgot about seesaw algo glad you have informed your self a bit

btw: pivx.org seems to be down atm maybe a ddos attack or maintnance maybe *shrug*

Pleas don't start coin vs coins wars here. respect dash as any other legit coin projects thanks

I'll be more diligent next time in making direct comparisons.

PIVX moved up to 12 on Coinmarketcap.  Really remarkable run in 2017!

I am not sure but I think that the addresses created before encryption can be recovered from one of your old non encrypted wallet file. So first encrypt then create addresses.

btw: pivx.org seems to be down atm maybe a ddos attack or maintnance maybe *shrug*

confirmed for www.pivx.org, and https://forum.pivx.org seems down too Cry  Huh.

wouldn't it be nice to have a decentralized website and forum? maybe with a .onion address too Smiley.

PIVX.org is down.

The developers have confirmed this, and are working on fixing the issue ASAP. More information to come.

That it is a old Transfercoin Bug....

Nothing in this coin's code is taken from Transfercoin. I don't even know what Transfercoin is honestly. Those are all standard error messages from Peercoin, which invented Proof of Stake.
