Bittrex requires 1.5 bitcoin for renaming? Is this a joke?

No joke. I guess 0.5 BTC to type the letters PIVX into a database, and 1.0 BTC to 'drag and drop' an icon in to a folder.

Stupid pricing model. Pure cash grab. Yet another reason the future is decentralized.

Thank you for the new wallet to the team !!!

It works fine, synchronization is good, and I have not yet tested the stake.

On the other hand, I regret that this one is not prettier. The one of darknet was not also extraordinary but it had a little more color.

It is a constructive criticism. I know it's easy for me who am not a developer, and who does not know how to code ..

Thanks again to the whole team!

ICO? Not even once.
OK, So we have a new issue to deal with...

I spoke to Bittrex today, to let them know we are ready to rebrand with them.. and since I spoke to Richie a few months ago in regards to this, should be an easy transition, but Now they want 1.5 btc to do the rebrand. I have spoken to Bill as well, and they don't seem to care that it was never mentioned when I spoke to Richie earlier.

So as it stands, we are in limbo, as I am not paying 1.5 BTC for a few database entries and a logo change. This is ridiculous.

Feel free to contact Richie and Bill on Slack in the Bittrex channel.

That's messed up. Pretty unreasonable for a small job like renaming a coin.

Fortune favours the bold!
I agree. Weekly updates on this thread would do a world of good for investor confidence and new investors.

Hmm. I don't think there was even a single week since this coin launched where there were no updates.
Heck, I don't think there has even been a single week in the last 3-6 months without an update from myself?
Anyways, if there is an update worth sharing and if not yet posted, you'll definitely see an update from me. Wink

To be fair, updates have been pretty good, especially lately. I think this project has really built a strong foundation.

FYI

I run both masternode controller wallet and a separate staking-only wallet instance on Windows.
I've upgraded both my Windows wallets to PIVX v2.1.4.0 wallet and have zero problems so far.

Okay everyone, I think we really need to go crazy and try to get PIVX added to Poloniex.
Now to do that, there is a lot that needs to be done. But it is very much possible.
Some can be done by the community. Some needs to be done by the devs. It's a team effort!

Some examples:
1. Coin Request Form template. See below for the details on how it can be filled. You can change the last 2 segments.
2. New website. This is a KEY component as a re-designed website is needed before Polo will add PIVX apparently.
3. White Papers. We are looking into writing a technical white paper on unique features of PIVX. (e.g. seesaw algorithm)
4. Anything else. PIVX has a team. But everyone here is team PIVX also. If we all do a little, we can make a BIG impact.

PIVX REBRANDED WALLET UPDATE

As s3v3nh4cks mentioned above, the first ever PIVX rebranded v.2.1.4.0 wallet has been released.
Compiled wallet binaries for various OS should be put up within the next 24 hours. Repo link below.

https://github.com/PIVX-Project/PIVX/releases/tag/v2.1.4.0

Although it's not mandatory, it has added bug fixes so it is highly recommended.
Change log can be seen from the commit history via the gitbub link below.
https://github.com/PIVX-Project/PIVX/compare/v2.1.3.4...master

IMPORTANT WALLET UPGRADE STEPS

If you have an existing wallet, you MUST rename the following 2 items 'BEFORE' you start the new wallet as the folder/file naming has changed.

1. Shut down the wallet gracefully either via CLI or via wallet GUI.
2. For linux users, hidden directory ".darknet" needs to be renamed to ".pivx".
3. For Windows users, similar will need to be done to your wallet.dat directory. (usually located in %APPDATA%)
4. For everyone, "darknet.conf" needs to be renamed to "pivx.conf".
5. Replace the wallet binaries with the updated v2.1.4.0 binaries.
6. Start the wallet!

For Windows users:
I personally recommend Windows wallet users to specify the wallet.dat directory via a shortcut method.
Basically create a shortcut the qt executable and append the -datadir= and specify a folder you created.

e.g. C:\Coins\PIVX\pivx-qt.exe -datadir=C:\Coins\PIVX\blockchain

Then the wallet and chain/dat/conf files will all be within a single folder instead of it going to %APPDATA%.
This trick works for pretty much every coin under the sun btw. (bitcoin, litecoin, whatever coin etc etc)
P.S. If you have an existing wallet.dat & conf files, you'll need to move them to the new -datadir folder.
