Another great day at http://pool.cryptoescrow.eu
Our Luck Average is staying at: 367%
Our custom Daemon hasn't got stuck even once in 6 days - didn't need a restart, which means that maximum mining efficiency is guaranteed.

Hi, Fellow Miners,

We want to make an announcement, that the daemon we use at:
pool.cryptoescrow.eu
Is one of the most stable daemons available on the market.

Since the daemon update 5 days ago, our Monero daemon never got stuck.
Other pools are usually restarting the daemon every 30minutes which
results in wasted hashes, because the daemon needs some time to save
the blockchain and to restart.
On average it takes around 90 seconds.

The math is simple:
48 restarts x 90 seconds = 4320 seconds = 72 minutes = 5% of all hashes wasted.

We do not waste these 5% of all the hashes.

Have a great day!

Looks like stratum is offline.

Edit: back online after ~15min.

Edit2: seeing periodic connection timeouts

Stratum was off for ~5mins, we had to do some tech maintenance and a restart.

Are you seeing connection timeouts on the website, or on your mining software?
Connection timeouts on the website does not have any effect on mining efficiency and its normal to see them from time to time.
Mining software.  Website outage doesn't matter to me, but my rigs are failing over to backup pools a lot right now.
Sent you a pm, for more info.

It was only the wind.
Also - new thought - while the pool's down, I should add some form of log rotation. I'll clear the old logs when I implement it; I'll save space and have a cleaner solution. So maybe it will take 15min if everything goes right Tongue

I think the trouble is on my end.  I have not tried any x11.....x13....or anything new.  i am pretty sure it is me

Could it be a port??  I have no clue on this type of mining.  i just wanted to learn.  Maybe get a couple while i am learning

Well, I'm sure you're using the right server - lots of people try to mine to pool.cryptoescrow.eu.

A timeout could be your connection... are you using cpuminer (minerd)?

that's very interesting because as far as I know, nobody has figured out what causes the daemon to silently crash. if you have a fix and are keeping it secret, you really should release the code to the public so we can all benefit from it. open source, and all that jazz.
From what i have heard, our daemon fixes were released, but the devs reverted the fixes to avoid some possible bugs with wallet synchronization.

Zone fixed it - you say "our" like it was some sort of group effort Tongue

If i say our internet connection is very good, doesn't mean i invented the internet Smiley
But I agree my expression wasn't very accurate.

I just need to get rid of this error.  I can probably put 2 or3 more crappy cpus on it after that lol

Pool is currently working correctly - I can tell if people are getting shares in by the few people who are submitting bad shares - yet slowly enough to stay under the ban limit. There are a few read timeouts, though - perhaps that's you?

Pool restarted. There have been updates to the pool software - I let a few other pools update first, to make sure everything was okay, and it seems fine. I will be switching pool software and testing/implementing a workaround for the buggy bitmonerod and simplewallet at 3:00AM UTC. Pool will be down for under 15min in the worst case.

Could you tell us what's custom or different about your daemon? What changes did you make?
I don't know the details, because i didn't see the code and didn't set it up.
What i can see and tell that our daemon never got stuck since the update.
4 Days and the daemon hasn't wasted a single hash - a huge difference to what was happening before.

I keep getting "Stratum authentication failed....retry in 10 secs.  Anybody around??  lol

I am, will kick it, one second.

If you there mining with us at: http://pool.cryptoescrow.eu
You have probably noticed, that we are the luckiest mining pool
on the market for the last 3 days
.
Or the luckiest mining pool since our relaunch with zone117x on our team.
I don't know if this is his setup, but we are averaging 488% luck for the last 3 days.
This can be checked and proved at: http://pool.cryptoescrow.eu/#pool_blocks

If you weren't mining with us, it's never too late to join!

Quick pool code:
Code:
minerd -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://mine.cryptoescrow.eu:5555 -u YOUR-WALLET-ADDRESS -p x -t 4

Our Pool's Advantages:
  • Always running the freshest code(Updated 2014.07.01)
  • DDoS protected
  • Custom & Stable Daemon
  • W/ tech support from zone117x (the developer of the pool software)

Being DDoSed.
You forgot to mention that we are being DDoSed, but continue to mine blocks and stay online Smiley

I was trying to mitigate it to make sure we DID stay online. During those times, I have two options: Post lots of long and detailed status updates, or actually work to fix some issues Tongue

Mind to fix the delays?

Last Share Submitted: about a minute ago - OK
Hash Rate: displays -30% (+/-)
Total Hashes Submitted: OK
Total Paid: delay

Restarting the pool to clear any issues that may have been caused by the DDoS.

We are sad to see Wolf0 leave our pool's team, but we are up and running again.
Wolf, thanks for all your input and good luck!

We had help from zone117x, he will also help us in the future regarding the pool set up

Pool fees have been changed: 0.8% pool fee + 0.2% pool development funding(goes to zone117x)
Minimum payout set to 0.5XMR

I don't think I can do this anymore. I got another backend admin, I told him to watch the pool, and when I wake up again, it's down. This just isn't worth it with software that needs someone to watch it 24/7.

You should at least bring the server back up for now with a notification with a time and date that it will no longer be operational. This gives your users time to move their miners.
