It was only the wind.
It seems that some machines cannot connect to the backend - this is likely due to our provider being stupid. If you can connect - your shares are safe and you will be paid.

EDIT: Yep - stupid provider. All is fine again, and we found two blocks in the meantime!

Oh dear God...

Here's what happened - last night, I tried the script - didn't work, so I immediately restarted the pool. I told mindless to kick it if necessary, because I was going to sleep and I would fix the script today. This has got to be the worst thing to wake up to. I am so sorry; I am fixing the script right now, and once it's in place, this will never happen again. 0% fees for a week.

Sure. What about the unpaid ones? Stays unpaid?

Ever try to pool-hop PPLNS? I'm pretty sure that's what node-cryptonote-pool uses, but I'm not certain.

i never checked... but it seems weird thats not on the faq page

just checked git: its proportional

That's not good.  Tongue

Hi,

I know about the issue and waiting for Wolf to come online. This will be
most likely resolved in less than an hour.
Sorry for any inconvenience

I did sign up to their mailing list to receive urgent updates.
Strange I didn't get notified when they know about the problem.
Let's hope our hashes are not gone and payments will be made once they get everything up to speed again.

+1

14 hours now, that's quite a lot of hashes to waste.

^If someone have an optimized miner and then use some of it's power to withhold blocks and some of the power to solo mine - he's getting payed by the pool less then if he didn't withhold, but he's sharing the bad luck with all the other miners, so he's getting payed without actually contributing. He could also solo mine on lower difficulty with his other hash rate. I'm just curious if there are miners on the pool, who are not sending any high difficulty shares, not finding any blocks and are too unlucky (out of the statistically justified intervals) in spite of their hash power.

That's... again, absolutely pointless. If you withhold a block, no one gets paid. That makes you lose money. The higher your hashrate, the more money you would lose by doing that.

Monero (XMR) - secure, private, untraceable
What about adding additional daemon restart logic?
Pool don't get a block 2.5x the time it should => restart the daemon. 12 hours are quite a lot without any monitoring.

With normal luck and current pool hash rate and difficulty it should find a block each 15 minutes. There is something wrong with all the pools. Did you added the other big pools with the --add-priority-node when starting the daemon?

EDIT: Is it possible someone or the GPU miner to withhold blocks.

Yes, of course. But it's stupid - because you only get paid if we find a block. I think the network itself is having issues.

Hash Rate: 1.09 MH/sec

How it's possible?? No blocks for 5h.

Same for me... and not just that... Stats (and wallet) are not updating.
Like daemon crashed or something is not running well?
OP, please update us with info.

Now we just have to find a block  Grin

Agreed. We have a much lower hashrate now, and I upped the ulimits, but I'm keeping an eye on it anyway.

probably just a front-end problem for stats, which means blocks are found by the pool but doesn't appeared on the stats for a while

I can't edit the OP, but if you are on the pool, you need to stop mining on pool.cryptoescrow.eu and start mining on mine.cryptoescrow.eu - or when the DNS changes, you won't be connected.

So why wont pool.cryptoescrow.eu point to the IP that mine.cryptoescrow.eu provides?

We seperated the backend from the frontend for two reasons - performance and security. Having a web server on a machine that stores money is unnecessary and is an attack vector. Also, having a dedicated server for mining means it can have all the resources it needs.

I understand all of this as I run and have ran multiple pools. I am curious to to why you need to completely drop pool.cryptoescrow.eu so suddenly? Why not just change the dns for pool.cryptoescrow.eu to point to the new stratum server IP? I had quite a bit of Kh/s pointed at it and there was no warning/time announced ahead of time for the switch. I do however appreciate the new faster DDoS protected servers.

I'm gonna be completely honest - that was kind of due to a miscommunication. It was supposed to point to pool2.cryptoescrow.eu for a while, then we would phase out pool.cryptoescrow.eu's mining ports entirely.
