It was only the wind.
Being DDoSed.
You forgot to mention that we are being DDoSed, but continue to mine blocks and stay online Smiley

I was trying to mitigate it to make sure we DID stay online. During those times, I have two options: Post lots of long and detailed status updates, or actually work to fix some issues Tongue

No block for an hour. daemon stuck again?
No, the daemon is not stuck and wont be - we made sure of that and we are monitoring everything.
An hour without a block is normal with our current hashrate. It depends on luck, we sometimes find 2 blocks in one minute and do not find a block for two hours - it is normal and it evens out in the longrun.
If you are not sure, always check pool block history: http://pool.cryptoescrow.eu/#pool_blocks

Please PM me your wallet address, Wolf said he will take a look at what has happened here.

I asked him if the payments can get stuck and he said:
Quote
"There's sometimes one or two, but they clear - the cause is getting fast blocks, ironically. A payment will go out, and it will try again when the next block confirms, not realizing some funds are locked from the last payment."

PM'd. Thanks for the help Smiley

Hmm. My Total Paid: 3.084388115865 XMR doesn't match my balance in wallet (2.367636057757) how come? Does it take 24+ hours before coins get in to wallet?
Can you make sure you have refreshed your wallet? The payments are fully automated and they shouldn't be delayed.

Yep. Whenever the My Total Paid goes up my wallet balance goes up by the same amount, still being ~0.7 behind.

And as soon as I post, it's back up. I'm finding out who did that - I have a bone to pick.   Angry

Backend is fine, but frontend randomly went down for halt. I noticed immediately because I was SSH'd in, but idle. If you're mining, shares are safe, everything will be paid out, you just can't see stats atm. On it.

Hi Everyone,

We are working on a solution how to make up for yesterday.
The main idea is to grant a very low fee to everyone who mined yesterday for a couple of months to make up for your losses and for everyone else to keep 0.5% fee for one more week.

I am working on finding a technical solution for this and will post more information later.

Wolf is making sure the auto restart script works smoothly in the future.

Also working on adding minimum payout threshold of 0.5XMR to the pool.

Pool will be down for ~10-20minutes when we install minimum payout threshold.

It was only the wind.
2014.06.19 Significant Pool Updates were made:
  • We are now DDOS protected.
  • Running smoothly and fully set up.
  • 0% Orphans after changing servers.
  • Added port 80 and 8080 for mining through HTTP ports.
  • Updated to the newest daemon.

good news, i've just moved my rigs to your pool

updated :

sometimes, your pool show "connection error", and your site don't show actual my hash after run a half hour

You're probably not using mine.cryptoescrow.eu.

I'd like it if i made the 10 or so coins i could have mined back... but at a 1% fee reduction, that'd take 2 months if the difficulty remains the same... Tongue

Its really just a business decision on your part Wolf0. I have no idea what your costs are, what you want to get out of the Pool and/or what your plan is going forward. Or whether or not its worth offering that kind of incentive to get people back on board, most people tend to forget things quickly so it might be pointless?

I'm sure if you decided to do it for the addresses that verifiably missed out on returns you'd gain a loyal user base though. Its your decision as to whether the inevitable loss that occurs is worth the loyalty and the potential gains via word of mouth/forum checking when choosing pools for moneo.

Most importantly, whatever you decide to do, make it public (perhaps a banner on the pool page so people know) and stick to it Smiley

Cheers mate Smiley

Lower fees for a larger amount of time would pay people back over time after a while. I'd imagine you have a list of the addresses who had unsubmitted shares during this time. You could even just do it for them as a kind of loyalty thing to get them back on board?

I'm just speaking for myself here, but i'd be back on board with my 3.5mh if you did this. If i'm willing to, then i'm sure others would be also, if thats the case over the long term i'm sure it would make you more and you'd probably gain more mining share than the ~1mh/s that were mining on your pool before this happened.

Cheers!

Oh dear God...

Here's what happened - last night, I tried the script - didn't work, so I immediately restarted the pool. I told mindless to kick it if necessary, because I was going to sleep and I would fix the script today. This has got to be the worst thing to wake up to. I am so sorry; I am fixing the script right now, and once it's in place, this will never happen again. 0% fees for a week.

Sure. What about the unpaid ones? Stays unpaid?

The nature of a stuck daemon means there weren't any blocks because the buggy piece of shit didn't broadcast them.

I understand that this can happen if some piece of software hangs.
But why didn't Mindless kick it when you told him so?
And why was there no warning on the mailing list once you found out about the problem?

I lost pretty big on this and I'm quite p*##@d off Sad
If you do the math, 1% for a week does not really come close to the losses.

Attention, whoever is mining with the wallet address 463V94oj2nE6H86y6SJfdwWytzBJeAkv3KUAwHnzHnDwYjXCrXnvJCGjC63F5AkYYF3z4jrUAo5hFaZ RNs38anCFE1pu5gz - you're submitting bad hashes, and have been for a while.
