for staking all you have to do is let the wallet open with your balance in it, and dont forget the balance need to mature

How long for maturing?

I had some issues with the wallet so I actually did a fresh install and sync, I wonder if it's due to all configs files (except wallet) being removed, now the coins are maturing again?

for maturing maybe need more than 40 blocks, i think if you do a fresh install but you dont move the wallet.dat maybe the coins that mature before will still be mature
