No matter what you wanna do right now. You will have to delete the old wallet in the end. Which mean, you turn it off, you shift-delete it, you download the brand new one and open it.

I realize this is obvious, but I feel like I should state, don't delete you wallet.dat file.

On Theory, then its only the new wallet that needs to be run instead of the old one.
That should make everything run without issues.

So delete the old QT and use the new one instead.
