It's about time -- All merrit accepted !!!
well if the biggest issue now is fighting between pools for 50% that is a better problem then only having one pool with almost the entire network !!

also remember the 51% threshold  is no magic number ,

a network can be attacked /double spent with much less or more hashpower controlled to different degrees

there are many academic papers about this so I think intermediate and advanced crowd often just tunes these squabbles out (I know I usually do ).....

hi all,

i will mining a little RIC, but i have nothing mining .json
what must i do?

i have download rminerd3.1.1, but what i also need?

start = json_rpc_call failed ??

best
makuny
Hello, the miner you downloaded is the first version and enables mining in Solo (directly in your wallet)

Given the high current difficulty of coin you should use one of the optimized miner (see dga-c16 or xptMiner2) that support the Stratum protocol and can be used on RiePool or XpoolX.

ok, i download xptminer. and now?
i create a .bat but don´t work - don´t open ?

http://riepool.ovh Seems to be right at 50%, they do have a nice miner though, getting rates all over the place from 2485KH to 850KH (I think 850KH will be my average).
What would be a working pool with less power?
Tried the links on the page and this seems to be the only one online for me.

The KH/s number does not mean anything really. The only valuable triplet to look at is RIC's per day at a certain difficultly.
xpoolx should also work reliable, if not PM the user xpoolx (the owner of the pool). Alternatively, if you have enough CPU cores to spare, try solo mining.

The more hashrate riepool have, the low diff becomes. "Super sense"

And he was saying me i was rigging the pool hashrate. Shameless
Hey, I never said this about your Pool!

Let's look beyond these false insinuations!

RiePool can increase it's Hashrate while is decreasing to xpoolx.

Then there are others users who mine in Solo or on other platforms, so the difficulty can be affected in many ways.

The total power of mining really affect the coin difficulty.

Finally, a more realistic value to control on the Dashboard is "My Sharerate" and not the Hashrate that is not quite stable due to continuous blocks resolved.

Thanks, is the -s option of any value for setting the Prime sieve max?
Any way to make it use more RAM per core, or is it safe to do say, 20 cores on a 4 core system with 32GB of RAM?

Is there a Riecon calculator you recommend?
Esp for a 4770K
Unfortunately not. Best way forward is to choose a pool of your liking (preferably one that does not have a 50+ % network share) and start mining for a day.
Difficulty makes a big difference tough. Anything below 1450 gives you quite a bit of RIC, everything above 1550+ signals a lot of CPU power on the net.

Same, I miss the days before the GPU took over that coin.  Was a lot of fun, one of my first CPU coins.

Back in the Primecoin days Smiley
Primecoin CPU mining is no longer profitable since gpu miner was announced so better to stay with Riecoin.
Back in the day I switched for the very same reason from XPM to RIC. XPM got devalued a lot since then, I sold all my XPM on BTCe like 6 months before they where delisted. So I guess the GPU miner did no good to that coin. While this coin is stuck on monopoly pools not seeing the problems they cause to the currency.

How many Riecoin could a 4770K make a day currently?
Use to mine these a lot, still got some, somewhere.

I guess you try and let us know. ;-)
Remember: Anything below 24h hours of constant mining does not say anything, there is still luck in the game of mining these coins.

It would probably be best if xpoolx addresses the problem of ~70% of hashrate being on his pool before the optimized miner was made public (if ever). Otherwise xpoolx miners will have an even larger percentage of hash power.
ALL pools should stop accepting miners when they reach 49 %.
I guess you can get the data from the API https://chainz.cryptoid.info provides (probably one of the undocumented ones).
But that is not a condition for Riepool to release code. License breach is license breach.

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/explorer/index.pools.dws?coin=ric
Code:
{"pools":[{"name":"RiePool","id":"8","url":"http://riepool.ovh/","nb100":61,"nb1000":322},
{"name":"XpoolX","id":"6","url":"http://www.xpoolx.com/","nb100":30,"nb1000":543},
{"name":"gpupool.com","id":"7","url":"http://gpupool.com/","nb100":5,"nb1000":45},
{"name":"Unknown","id":"","url":"","nb100":3,"nb1000":89},
{"name":"MiniPool","id":"10","url":"","nb100":1,"nb1000":1}]}

or

Code:
function calc($networkHashrate,$hashrate)
{
return Round(100 $networkHashrate * ($hashrate*1000), 2);
}

$api=json_decode(file_get_contents('http://riepool.ovh/index.php?page=api&action=public'),true);
echo
calc($api['network_hashrate'],$api['hashrate']).'
'
;

$api=json_decode(file_get_contents('http://xpoolx.com/index.php?page=api&action=public'),true);
echo
calc($api['network_hashrate'],$api['hashrate']).'
'
;
?>

cool Stuff ... Simba84 XpoolX go for it! Currently RiePool has 70 % and xpoolx only 20 % ... As they shift over time anyway now would be a good time to get this important feature done.

long story short: if it's GPL, you can't close source it, unless you have written permission by all the authors (they are relicensing it for you).
+1 ... That is what I said all along, only in a nice article  Grin
I'm on one4many side closed source is bad for all of us!!!!!
Pls GPL don´t allow closed source!!!!!!!
