Is there any information about the 1000 BTC buy? Does anybody have a clue who this person/persons is/are?

He is from our Antshares community. We don't think it's appropriate to announce who he is. But he is very wealthy and owns a lot of restaurants lol.
Thanks!

Thanks for the response. No need to reveal their identity, just wanted to know whether or not it is known who they are, since this person will hold an amount of antshares, which, depending on the outcome of the ICO, can be backbreaking to its price. Knowing that it is a person from the community creates at least some confidence in their motives being positive.

maybe DEV!?  Grin

We buy 1000BTC and let everyone else think it is overpriced and refund... Sounds like a great plan

I don't get it, Antshares developer bought antshares of 1000BTC, why are they sourcing for money again if they can afford 1000BTC to buy into their own project? I just don't understand

He was being sarcastic.

I am confused about the previous ICO phase I in 2015. What's up with that? Is this a continuation? A fork of the previous project?  Huh

That's the first round of funding for our project. This is the second round not a continuation.
Project is Antshares all along

Where can I get more info on the first ICO (money raised, coins allocated and at what price etc.)?

You can check the second reply (under the bounty) of this thread to find more information. Let me know if those are not enough.
Thanks!

Thanks for your response. Actually the links don't give all that much information (at least not in English) about the first ICO. How many Antshares were distributed during it and at what price? Thanks

It's around 17m Antshares distributed for total 2100BTC.
Thanks!

Thank you. Can I suggest that be added to the OP (or at least the ICO post below). I also couldn't find information on the total supply, could you tell me how many Antshares there will be in total in the beginning and also the maximum possible supply. Thanks again for your help.

ain't that possible to which someone are just trying to lure investors to simply make fellow bitcoin users also invest to antshares because they saw someone trusted the dev team with their 1000btc.  Although I see the platform seem good, its not so far fetch still.

Ok... clearly we are not that kind of project. I would still think it's a bad idea because it costs too much! And you can't guarantee the results

The option expires after mainnet launch. You can choose refund after ICO and before mainnet launch.
Thanks!

- Certainty Bookkeeping without Forks
Antshares uses Joint mode for bookkeeping. Joint mode is advantageous over consistency and finality, it requires nodes to authenticate themselves to achieve a weak trust from other nodes.

I am having a bit of trouble understanding this section.

I know what bookkeeping is, but what is "Certainty Bookkeeping without Forks" ? What is "joint mode" ? What does "Joint mode is advantageous over consistency and finality" mean? Does it mean joint mode enables consistency and finality? Or does it mean joint mode is better than consistency and finality? Also "it requires nodes to authenticate themselves to achieve a weak trust from other nodes", why would nodes athenticating themselves achieve WEAK trust? Wouldn't it on the contrary provide trust?

I would really appreciate some explanation about that. Thank you.

“Certainty Bookkeeping w/o forks” means you know a transaction is valid as soon as there is one confirmation, as opposite to bitcoin's 6 confirmation. "Confirmed" is a probability expression under bitcoin, any transaction can be removed from the blockchain as long as there is a alternative history with more hashing power.

Joint mode means every block is validated by multiple parties, unlike a single node as in PoW/PoS/DPoS. You are right, joint mode enables finality with one confirmation.

"it requires nodes to authenticate themselves to achieve a weak trust from other nodes", authenticate here means approving it's own identity. Revealing one's real identity is a more economical way to get "trust" comparing to demonstrate(waste) hashing power. Although PoW is more suitable if anti-censorship is the prioritized design goal.

Thank you very much for this comprehensive reply.
