Do you still have a copy of the binary? I keep meaning to compile it but just never ever have the time.
If you have something that is stable and can be left out there running I can probably keep it up for a bit.

Hi Graham,

Unfortunately I missed this post until today.
Any chance you can make the datadir available again for a shortwhile. (https://minkiz.co/noodlings/roulettecoin-datadir.tar.xz )
Regards
J

Do you have a copy of the binary that you made anyplace that I can grab it?
I'm not motivated enough to be bothered to build it, but I figure having a copy of what was the final version could not hurt.

And to be greedy a copy of the blockchain too if at all possible. To be shoved on the archive RAID never to be seen again.

I haven't retained any binaries, sorry. I'll make the chain available for a while: https://minkiz.co/noodlings/roulettecoin-datadir.tar.xz

Cheers

Graham

Here is what Graham sent me if he does not have it anymore:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1D0B2O-2hkrdGIEZKSV1h0wNpdVdwpi54/view?usp=sharing

I still have not had the time to verify that it was a good / complete download I just grabbed it and saved it, I have not been able to spend the time to build a client to check it against.
Let me know if it works for you.

Gotta find some nodes  Smiley
There aren't any.

Back in Feb the network consisted of just two nodes, both of them mine and it had been that way for a couple of years. When I shut down the nodes, the chain stopped at that point,

Hi Graham, glad to have you back.
I've not been away, so I'm not "back". I'm pushing 70 and the relative inactivity of long hours spent at the keyboard is becoming increasingly prejudicial to my overall heath, so for my own sake I'm obliged to reduce my level of engagement.

I am happy to run a copy of this wallet, if you have the time to help me compile it please.
I'm sorry but I'm no longer in a position to provide support (see above) - which is why I shut the chain down back in February.

Cheers

My 2 year necro-bump on this thread.

Mostly because I just saw that it auto-renewed on my domain bill from March. Not that roulettecoin.cc actually goes anyplace.

Anyone out there still running the wallet? Anyone care about the domain?
AFAICT, it's been just me keeping the chain going out of sheer bloody-mindedness having upgraded a while ago to a Core 0.16.2 version (https://github.com/gjhiggins/roulettecoin-core/) but a few weeks ago I decided to call it a day, having mined a stupidly and terminally large number of coins and I shut down the remaining two nodes.

So no, I guess no-one cares about the domain.

Quote
If not I will take it off auto-renew and when it expires next year it just goes away again.
Seems like a plan.

(If there is any interest, the chain is restartable, so speak up now or forever hold your peace.)

Cheers

Graham

Thanks.

So, since at least 2 of us are out there using it, and the 1st post does mention it I just registered roulettecoin.cc
For the moment it goes nowhere, but hopefully I'll get some free time (yeah I know, but I can hope) and put a page up and get an explorer working. Don't know when, but I'll try for the next two weeks or so.

Bumping from close to 2 years ago. Came back to this PC with all the old wallets on it. Started this one and it looks to be live.
Anyone here doing anything with it? Or just keeping some nodes up and mining for the hell of it?

Yeah, keeping some nodes up and mining, that about nails it (though I might take a look at upgrading to Core 0.16).

I was curious to find out if it would keep ticking if run on a minimal network, which it seems to be doing quite nicely.

(I was also quietly entertained that the "roulette" in Roulettecoin refers to its hashing algo and not some nebulous association with gaming, as nearly everyone seemed to incorrectly assume).

Cheers

Graham

So, I was cleaning out an old wallet PC and found this again.
I fired up the exe and the blockchain synced with no issues.
So who is still mining this?

And not that it matters much, AllCrypt the only exchange that carried this coin is shutting down the end of the month.
