Yes. See yesterday's tests:

After the last 2 consecutive 5k txs, some validators crashed. Once the validators restarted, the network got back moving.

Mine never crashed. 5000 tx/block = 166 tx/sec
Well done job! That's much faster than Etherum's < 10 tx/sec (https://etherchain.org/charts/tps)

Can semux scale beyoned 5000 tx/block to more like 50,000 or 500,000 txs per block?

Ok so i have successfully downloaded the wallet.
whats the next step to do? I have seen pics showing command prompt running similar to mining, but i dont have such in my wallet.

Advice validators upgrade your hardware. It's the only way for you to have a chance to get 250 transaction fee reward during stress test.

Only way to have sems now is via OTC but I will advice you to stay away from that since scams are rampant. I got scammed there.

I downloaded the wallet looking to help, but now I see that in order to be a validator and earn anything you have to be voted to the top of the list... but if you missed the alpha/beta/airdrop how do you acquire coins to do that?
