This is the newest windows beta.

https://github.com/mbishop75/silkcoin/releases/tag/v1.1.0.17-beta

as well here is the newest linux bin for any of yall nix users
https://github.com/mbishop75/silkcoin/releases/download/v1.1.0.16-beta/silkcoin-qt-1.1.0.16-debian.tar.gz

Planning on the new final release this week sometime.

So far the issues with previous 1.1.0.12 installer version have all been ironed out except for penguins corrupt wallet.dat.  Which are taking care of today.

In regards to competition, we are the GUI leaders in the industry.  I don't think any coin has the interface we have unless parts of it were forked from Silk.

The voting system was ready to be implemented, going on a login/2fa auth system..

But in the spirit of cryptocurrency, I believe we have found a much better way to run the voting and polls.  Looking to have it integrated along with a couple other cool features not yet seen in other wallets.

The dev who designed the voting system has been away this week, so upon his return, I believe we are ready to integrate with the new features proposed by the team.

For now check out 1.1.0.17 and please report any problems if they arise.  So far we haven't heard any issues with 1.1.0.16, and have done a lot more upgrades regarding 17.

Yes.

We probably don't say this enough, but THANK YOU for all of your hard work!  I know this is so time consuming, but it will pay off, and I think you said it best, "The Camel Marches on."   Cheesy

The ideas are inspiring, yes. But how will they transform themselves into technical innovation to help Silk rise above the competition in more than words?

  Who is the competition?

I've been emailing with Arteleis towards hopefully fixing my corrupted wallet.dat file.
I've tried everything that's been suggested, and believe the fault has been isolated to my wallet.dat.  Some process that writes to it has probably corrupted it.  The devs will examine my wallet and debug window and hopefully will be able to address whatever the cause of the issue was in the next qt update.

With any luck at all, this problem will be fixed sometime soon.

On an unrelated note, make sure you check out this great article on coindesk regarding altcoins like Silkcoin:
http://www.coindesk.com/need-altcoins-can-get/?utm_source=CoinDesk+subscribers&utm_campaign=7d9d8daacf-EMAIL_RSS_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_74abb9e6ab-7d9d8daacf-78909885

We are doing a lot of things right.  As the software becomes more stable, etc., our focus will have to shift into PR for us to be successful.  More to discuss on that later, when the time comes. Smiley

Now I removed my wallet.dat so the q-t software would be forced to generate a new, clean one.

Then I sent 1 SILK to the new wallet from my Bittrex account.
Then I sent what was left of this (minus transaction fees) back to my Bittrex account.
It worked fine.

The problem is in my wallet.dat file.

I may have found some crash events in my debug window.
Would those data be helpful?

Yes, please email me the crash events from debug window.

Last night/this morning I installed Silkcoin wallet 1.1.0.16 on a different computer, which has never had a wallet on it before.

We need more details because Silkcoin developers use differents OS like Windows 7 32/64bits, Windows 8, Ubuntu, MacOS, ... and nobody has that problem...

I had the exact same issue.  The wallet crashes when I send SILK.  It's not due to a problem with the computer then.

Where coins of this new wallet come from ? Backup of your previous wallet.dat ? importprivkey ?

Sent 1 coin to that address.  No errors on my end. txid  d0c814f48485d5fc2218048c83b74c0195aa9bf315e61bfcb2b71bc9ddb0e621

And if you're saying you sent coins while syncing, this will not work.
I'm not sure what would happen if coins were sent while syncing.

They should be confirmed just fine unless nodes to which your client connected for syncing for some reason didn't relayed your transaction. In other words, normaly a user does
not need to wait until client is synced to send transaction. However, if at any moment transaction is missing / unconfirmed for a long time (over 1 day) / something does not look
right, what user must do is following:

1. Make a backup of your wallet over menu File > Backup Wallet...
2. Shutdown your client.
3. Browse to directory where client is located.
4. Right-click on client file (silkcoin-qt.exe) > Create shortcut.
5. Right-cllick on shortcut > Properties.
6. Add -rescan to field Target:

D:\Silkcoin\wallet\silkcoin-qt.exe -rescan (note: this is how it looks on my side, the path to file silkcoin-qt.exe (part in red) will probably be different for you - leave it as it is)

7. Click on OK, start client using shortcut and let it complete rescan.
8. Write down procedure above, it applies to all cryptocoin clients that are based on Bitcoin (that means all cryptocoins excluding NXT, Qora and similar different architectures).

If situation with transaction afterwards did not changed it means you have a real problem or there is no problem at all. Note that blocks you staked which became orphaned (grey
question mark) will still be visible.

Ad Libertas!
Running the new wallet without issues.  Market data tab is much nicer like that, thumbs up.  There's even room for another button or two now Wink

Those buy walls sure did stabilize the price across the exchanges...hmmmmm... ;-)

Have you updated to most recent version and followed the uninstall instructions?

Yes, I have now.
I just attempted to send SILK using 1.1.0.16 and had the wallet crash in the exact same manner that it has been crashing again.

I also attempted to generate a new address in the Send/Receive tab and had the same crash.

Next I'll try it on a different computer that has 32-bit Windows 7 instead of 64.  Hopefully this is the last time I have to download the blockchain  Tongue

I know it's part of the routine to delete everything except wallet.dat but at this point I don't think it's doing you any good to re-sync.  I don't think any of these wallets are crashing due to the SILK network or syncing.  They are crashing because there are missing or corrupt dll files somewhere on your PC.

A little bit more data on my bug.  When I go the the send/receive tab, click on receive, and try to generate a new address. . . I get the exact same crash as I get when I try to send coin.

Why would this be happening?

And if you're saying you sent coins while syncing, this will not work.
I'm not sure what would happen if coins were sent while syncing.

To screenshot press ctrl+printscreen - or if using multiple screens, click alt+printscreen.

Start an account at http://imgur.com/ upload your screen shot, then copy the BBcode here.

I'm not sure what you mean when asking if you get your mining coins now.

i am say that all fine with mining coin i get them ok,
and as you can see i sent two transactions one for 5000 coin while it was syncing which did not affect my balance at all,but one when was fully synced which did that one was for 6000
any chance of getting them back then?

Looking at your screen shot of your desktop, i would give your computer a good scan for malware. (i see an icon for the torch web browser there which is known spyware)
If i was you, i would make a backup of your wallet and download and run the folloowing malware removal tools:

Anyone willing to help me compile a list of businesses that accept crypto for purchases, please IM me.  We need a listing so we can organize a campaign to implement SILK as an accepted currency for payment.

My company, George Plumbing Co. accepts BTC and SILK as payment for services.
www.yell4george.com

Hell.  Yes.

I have 3 other local businesses considering accepting silkcoin but they want to read a whitepaper or something explaining what we do and why we do it (i don't know the technical stuff so its hard for me to explain to them)
