You are always welcome to help, any C++ experience is good, even if its just for testing and debugging builds etc.

Why is silkcoin so low right now?

What is your reference date?  ha.. and Good point.. full release enroute.  Probably a good time to buy.. Cool
June 14th vs today.

Um... yeh..  old dev team dumped their premine, crashed the market, left all the exchanges frozen... welcome to the new community and development team!

Just finishing cleaning up the mess left behind.   Smiley

how does the back up file work as i want too make sure it works before i delete all the silkcoin data as i had 28300 coins in it?i did back it up but not too sure how it works

find the folder in Yourdrive:\Users\Youruser\AppData\Roaming\Silkcoin and copy your wallet.dat to another folder or to a usbdrive

After you delete all and install the new version, replace/overwrite the wallet.dat in Yourdrive:\Users\Youruser\AppData\Roaming\Silkcoin with the file wallet.dat you saved
first

Remember that this is a hidden folder.  So search %appdata% to locate or remove hidden folders option.

When clicking backup in the 'actions' tab.  It will ask you save a copy of your wallet.  Just place it in a folder you think is safe, and after saving, open that folder and verify that it is there.  You can tell the differences between .dat files by their size.  Generally the longer you've been on the blockchain and more silk you have in it the larger the file.

After you've verified that it has been backed up properly (for eg. i might start a new folder on my desktop entitled silk resources, backup into that folder temporary.  long term, better to keep the wallet backed up onto a flash drive) follow the uninstallation process.

Most users should be just able to

1. Search %appdata%
2. Double click roaming
3. Double click and enter silkcoin folder
4. Delete everything in silkcoin folder except wallet.dat
5. Run new installer.

If runtime error exists repeat uninstallation process, but also use silkcoin uninstaller and restart computer.

ALWAYS ENSURE YOU'RE WALLET.DAT IS BACK UP AND VERIFIED IN FOLDER YOU SAVED IT TO BEFORE UNINSTALLING!
And if your wallet.dat is safely stored.  So is all your silk.   Wink
