May cause some runtime issues with old version, so need to complete uninstall and reboot to fix anyproblems.

search %appdata% click 'roaming' go in to silkcoin folder.  right click and copy wallet.dat - make new folder someplace safe. paste wallet.dat in that new folder totally safe.
delete silkcoin folder in appdata.  Run the uninstaller, restart computer.  run new version, replace new wallet.dat with your old safely stored wallet.dat in %appdata%/roaming/silkcoin - note:there will be the hidden %appdata% and regular appdata.  Don't confuse.

DO NOT DELETE YOUR WALLET.DAT FROM ORIGINAL UNTIL SAFELY BACKED UP!!! This is your SILK!  Let us know if there are any more issues.

Tell us your Silkcoin wallet version (Left menu > Actions > About Silkcoin) and message error (screenshot if possible).

i have got old and new version now but non will work now when i try to open either one i get ( this application has requested the runtime to terminate in unusual way)what do i do?please help me.

I would wait for the new release and do this but if you're impatient (can't blame you):

1.) If you have an old version of the wallet that works, open that and backup your wallet.
2.) Click the windows button, in the search box type %appdata%, hit enter.
3.) Navigate to the silkcoin folder and delete everything inside except the "wallet.dat" file.  This will re-download the blockchain (will take a while) and will fix 99.9% of all errors.

I was excited to get the new wallet I downloaded last night and tried to sync.... Woke up to a runtime visual c++ error and then the executable crashes. Tried to relaunch the wallet and get the same thing. Any ideas on how to fix?

I know it's a minor thing, but I'm anally retentive when it comes to design. Stuff like that feels like

Wait, that icon was on accident? I feel a little less silly now. I've been sitting here disgruntled, thinking it was on purpose.

Just downloaded the new Windows wallet. So far, so GREAT! Only two eensy little things that I noticed:

1. there is no sync progress icon / bar to let me know where I am in the syncing process

2. there is a itty bitty GUI glitch in the upper right hand corner of the wallet. See the screenshot below:

The Silkcoin community is in the last stages of the takeover and rebuilding phase. Countless hours have been spent laying the new foundation of the coin and an official ANN SILK thread will come soon. We have to make sure that all details have been addressed before we make our first impression.

The new Silkcoin feature that I'm looking forward to the most is the community voting platform. From what I've read, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, is that owners of silk will be able to vote on the direction and priority of ecosystem happenings. The more silk you own (or vote?) the more influence you have and the more you can control your environment. This, I believe, will create community activity and a sense of ownership, worth, and passion for the ecosystem. The voting platform (the SilkTemplum ?) will force people to stake their silk in order to vote and be heard. This will move silk off the exchanges and into the wallets to further proof-of-stake.
