So my next question to the community is this.

DarkSilk mining algo.

I don't want opinions or suggestions.

Just answer back with one of the below options.

  • CPU only
  • Scrypt
  • SHA256

Thank you Wink

SHA256 is good but WAY too hard to launch without someone forking it immediately. I would argue that CPU or Scrypt is prob best outside of the more excotic x11, keccac etc.

A custom CPU algo can be made Wink

dont under estimate the big group of potential sha miners.
lot of useless hardwares left from btc..

This is why I ask Cheesy

If you would like suggestions, I personally like any GPU mineable algo that is ASIC resistant (not SHA256/SCRYPT). Usually leads to more decentralization (somewhat) and is less botnet-friendly (Most CPU algos are very botnet profitable).

However for mobile applications either SHA256 or Scrypt are good because of header sizes and apps already existing that can be more easily forked.

(On a side note the white paper is starting to look sexy)

I like retaining the Camel for the Network.

Below are my favorites from the renders with some shading ect added.
I think this weaver and the first DarkSilk image below should be considered.
Both are clean and professional looking IMHO.
The spider web doesn't work IMHO nor do the comic book colors of the previous renders.

You shortlisted the same ones as me.

I think a camel should be retained (for silkcoin if nothing else).

Keep a different logo for drkslk itself.

Agree!!!
Camel is way better and closer to the silk path
The Phoenix idea is cool but this Camel arose so many times that beats the Phoenix

Also what attracted me from the beginning to Silkcoin was the graphic design of the wallet that looked different than all other wallets
If that look is interfering with the functionality then by all means change it, but if it's not then you know the old saying:
If it works don't fix it
and focus on other issues

This is the only wallet that I don't minimize from the desktop since everybody ask me   "what's that?!?"

It doesn't work and I am fixing it.

In my opinion the Camel looks crap and cheap.

Non professional.

I have always thought that.

It will be reworked and used as the logo for The Silkcoin Network.

Also the old Silkcoin wallet is overloaded with crap.

Weaver will house all the needed features, not the wallets.

(Sorry for my short, abrupt answers, just woke)

It would be good to retain the animated camel in some shape on the wallet also, as that was unique to silkcoin.

One more thing.

For those of you actually selling silk, can you please lower your price on polo as I'm not quite done accumulating.

Your awesome! Thanks!

Made a proper solid start on the white paper today.

Only 9 pages long so far and I still need to add the information about the Decentralised MarketPlace, let alone the section on Weaver hasn't even gone in yet.

Use bigger font! I can't read any of that FFS.

You guys are crazy. The camel is impossible to stylyze and makes no sense to have in a logo.
Just like Apple Smiley Makes no sense to have an Apple. But it does work

Look at the evolution of the Apple. From colorful shaded fruit to simple black blob.

The 'Silk Road' or 'Silk Route' is an ancient network of trade and cultural transmission routes... during various periods of time.[1]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silk_Road

A Merchant riding a camel suits the network.
The network carries SLK/DRKSLK currencies or 'coins'.
Different entities, different imagery, I see no problem.

I have spoken to GitHub and managed to attain the username DarkSilk instead of DRKSLK which is great news.

The official GitHub of DarkSilk is now here - https://GitHub.com/DarkSilk
