I think a camel should be retained (for silkcoin if nothing else).

Keep a different logo for drkslk itself.

Agree!!!
Camel is way better and closer to the silk path
The Phoenix idea is cool but this Camel arose so many times that beats the Phoenix

Also what attracted me from the beginning to Silkcoin was the graphic design of the wallet that looked different than all other wallets
If that look is interfering with the functionality then by all means change it, but if it's not then you know the old saying:
If it works don't fix it
and focus on other issues

This is the only wallet that I don't minimize from the desktop since everybody ask me   "what's that?!?"

It doesn't work and I am fixing it.

In my opinion the Camel looks crap and cheap.

Non professional.

I have always thought that.

It will be reworked and used as the logo for The Silkcoin Network.

Also the old Silkcoin wallet is overloaded with crap.

Weaver will house all the needed features, not the wallets.

(Sorry for my short, abrupt answers, just woke)

I think all look pretty good, nice and clean! Like the idea of the Phoenix arising from the ashes.

Just had a meeting with the graphic designer and have asked him to refine the two logos creatures.

For DarkSilk I have specifically asked for the head and claws to be improved and the armour to be brought more symmetrical.

For Silkcoin I have asked for the tail to be lengthened and head to be changed and looking more upwards to basically be more Phoenix like.

For both logos the colours will be two tone.

I have asked for both to have a version done with the logo with text to the right and encapsulated in a rounded rectangle.

I am awaiting the results.

The new Silkcoin is ready. Graphic designer is back over tonight to work on the logos again, a reworking.

New genesis for mainnet, testnet and regtest.

Alert Pubkey in place and I am the sole holder of this key. I will be able to broadcast messages directly to the wallets to inform users to update if and when the need arises.

Nice and clean  Grin

combinedsplitstakethreshold/split values are only in the code?
values can not be configured with conf file.
but you can do it by custom wallet, change values to what ever you want.
?

when diff goes higher you may want to use bigger inputs..

Split threshold can be increased prior to launch cisa to counter any issues prior to them happening Wink

how about adding those values to conf file rules?
sounds better when you can adjust it by your balance. like some other coins have it.
of course that can be changed later, it is not important to have it "fine tuned" now.
there are more important things before that..

I aim for perfection.

Without going into technical detail and what subsystems exist to Weaver, I just want to highlight the importance of Silkcoin to its workings.

The Multipool will only pay in Silkcoin. The user then has the choice to swap through Weaver for DarkSilk or BTC.

Anywhere in the Weaver system where cryptographic currency is earnt or paid, it is in Silkcoin(SLK).

DarkSilk is only attainable via PoW mining, PoS mining, purchase, trade or swap via the Weaver.

In answer to CryptoJohns question about the token system for Weaver and what it is exactly, they are effectively a reward based system for processing transactions and stay within the Weaver system.

Obviously I am not going to go into depth about Weaver until the new thread is up, but out of interest what are people hoping to see?

I would like to form a marketing team for Silkcoin/DarkSilk/Weaver i.e. The DarkSilk Foundation/Silk Network

This will take up your spare hours and minutes in the day.

Do not say your prepared to do this unless you truly understand what is involved.

Selling your soul to the DarkSilk Foundation/Silk Network.

Like I said previously I am arranging all the details and finalising exactly how the Silkcoin/DarkSilk/Weaver infrastructure ebbs and flows.

Silkcoin holders will be getting offered a better deal than a non-Silkcoin holder, that is 100%, and I fully respect the time you guys have been supporting the network.

At the same time I look past what has happened with your previous developers and look at what we can achieve with all the correct systems in place.

Silkcoin is essential to the working of Weaver and the Silk network. Like I said in private messages just now to the users questioning their stake and holdings, whatever is done in terms of Weaver and the DarkSilk launch, simply the involvement and use of Silkcoin alone will effect price, let alone what systems we actually will have and what they will enable people to do.

I understand you all want to ensure your holdings are a ROI and personally I want you to receive a return too, however this is going to come from mine and my teams hard work and perseverance not to mention funding for continued development etc. Whether people like it or not, developers need paying, servers need paying, marketing costs money, graphic designers want paying, writers need paying and whatever and whoever else needs paying.

Because sadly, we are but men, and we must eat.

I will collate all my paperwork and get a white paper drawn up ASAP and all of this madness will make sense, I promise.

Spencer

Thanks a lot for your answer Spencer. I totally understand what you coming from, all the effort, time and money put by you and the team deserves a nice return. Just as an idea, maybe through the weaver the foundation could sort of "keep" a % (25-50) of the exchanged coins. That way you could make sure that all SILK holders pay their part and at the same time the foundation gets a nice founding for the coming months. Only my 2 cents, but whatever the case I'm in for both SLK and DRKSLK.

Hi Spencer ,

So current SILK holders will have no stake at all in DRKSLK? I was under the impression that we somehow would be able to swap and join the new project. So apart from the new fixes in sync and improvements in security, which we appreciate, how would SILK holders benefit from the launch and coexistence with DRKSLK? It would be great if you could clarify this.

Thanks in advance.

Although i'm very interested in DRKSLK the bulk of my assets will remain in SLK. I am very confident that SLK will flourish right beside DRKSLK. Not as just a seperate entity, but as an integral part of the whole system.

What are peoples thoughts on the new Silkcoin and DarkSilk logos?

Could work very well as shortcut icons. Maybe a little animation to go along with it.
Overal good first iteration for coin logos.

I can make a whitepaper for DarkSilk,, it looks like an honest project....

Also, suggestion - instead of SWAPPING, try this:

- Be able to import privkeys from the old slikcoin wallet to the darksilk wallet and get the same coins

The swap for SILK->SLK will be carried out via the Weaver.

The user will be presented with a deposit address to send their existing SILK to and a field to input their new SLK address to receive their new SLK funds.

There will be a 30 day swap period.

By the user being able to simply send their coin and receive new SLK in return, eliminates the need for us to snapshot addresses and check balances.

Also it gives the user the option to test our system and not actually send their entire balance in one go if they feel they are unsure.

Call it step 1 of trusting the developers.
