Background:TAGcoin (TAG) was
released in 2013 as a PoW/PoS hybrid Scrypt coin and has continued to be mined, traded, HODL'ed (and talked about) ever since.
Its founder
Mark Vernon [
Skype] walked away from the project in late 2017 swapping many
TAG coins for a Token also known originally as TAG then
later as TAGCash [
Archive] with many coins sent to a burn address
TRCryptoLifeDotNetBurnAddrXXX6gvik in exchange
for the TAGcash Token [
Archive] on the
ProofCore backbone [
Archive].
Exchanges such as
Novaexchange have continued to support the
TAG Original listing it as
XTAG [
BTC][
DOGE] together with the all important
addnode= information and mining companies such as
FindBlocks.Wales enable the block chain to continue to move forward with their
pool operations and
block explorer.

This list contradicts
Mark's later assertion that there was no pre-mine of TAG. (page was last edited on the 18th Nov 2017 - four years after TAG's original launch). In any event, we know for certain the following information: As at block 779577 there is a money supply of 7649384.60544700 TAG with
3916637.748056 TAG having been sent to the burn wallet address
TRCryptoLifeDotNetBurnAddrXXX6gvik which leaves
just 3732746.857391 TAG in circulation. I.E. At this point more than 51% of the mined TAG are in one wallet - admittedly a burn wallet, but still...

On the
Technical Specifications page, we know that TAGcoin Original is:
- Pow/PoS hybrid (5% yearly interest, PoS blocks generated after 30 days of coin age)
- Algorithm: Scrypt
- Starting difficulty: 0.5
- Coins per block: 30
- PoW Subsidy reduction: 1% every 3 months, minimum reward of 3 coins
- Time between blocks: 4 minutes
- Retarget: Every 2 hours, with a 25% limit in either direction
- Network Port: 8623
- RPC Port: 9624

Social Media:TAG Original has its own
Discord Channel but as yet no other social media channels. There is a disused
Twitter Account for TAGcoin, however, it has not been posted by a non-bot since the
29th of July 2017 and has remained
disused in the last six months. If Mark is reading this, we would respectfully ask him to make contact to discuss handing over passwords for Twitter and any other social media outlets so that we can carry on his original vision of the coin being used to TAG and TIP
(and the secret key for the TAG wallet alert key too BTW)TAG Original continues to be favoured on the Chinese AEX.com market which is the
rebuilt btc38.com exchange [
Archive]. Unfortunately, TAG is
traded for just the in-house coin GAT however, the daily trades of TAG on today's date runs to a
staggering 2.46 million TAG!Yobit.net Exchange trades
TAG Original. According to their
Coin Info page, at the moment there is:

So we are uncertain if they are discounting certain burned coins that we haven't been made aware of as yet. Given the closeness of their coin count, we have no reason to believe that their exchange is not connected to the

Other Technical Information:There is no active Paper Wallet for
TAG Original - given that it a PoW/PoS hybrid I would discourage their use long-term.

Where to from here?TAG Original has a small but dedicated following, I see no reason why we can't combine our resources in the coming days, weeks and into years to come to build
TAG Original into a global player. Think Big people...
