I'm thinking of doing what exchanges do and have the user click a button to create a deposit/receiving code…
The hemp coin reseller feature is probably going to be the most innovate thing not seen by any cryptocoin…

I like the distribution model of university students selling $10 to $100 worth of hemp coins…

Where is the long-term roadmap/plan for unveiling all the features of THC?

Clearly someone just lost a lot of enthusiasm in THC and dumped on Bittrex Cry

We don't have any roadmap. Currently, development team is working on POS fix. As for me, after that's finished, I will work on speeding up wallet, fixing bugs and maybe Android wallet.

I'm thinking of doing what exchanges do and have the user click a button to create a deposit/receiving code. I could give away codes to the first 50 people who actually want them.

There has been very little demand for this feature so far as there is only 1 store in the world accepting hemp coins as payment. Right now the most popular features of the wallet are social sharing and withdrawing/sending coins.

As more stores accept hemp coins and the hemp coin reseller feature is implemented I will make it easier to acquire a deposit address. Probably some sort of ask for a code and get it all within the hemp.cash app.

The hemp coin reseller feature is probably going to be the most innovate thing not seen by any cryptocoin. It will allow college students/stores to sell hemp coins for cash or credit cards with the process being done through mobile phones.

Of course I would like the THC price to sky rocket up to 20,000 tomorrow. I'd probably sell a few and buy a bunch of android tablets to give to stores for free. I'm personally not concerned much with the month to month volatility in the THC price. I have plans based on expectations after 3, 5 and 10 years in the future.

P.S. https://hemp.cash isn't made by the hemp coin "devs". It's made by a third party community member.

A whale coming in and buying a large percentage of coins would probably be bad as they would do nothing in the community except sit on coins.

I like the distribution model of university students selling $10 to $100 worth of hemp coins to 1,000,000 different students way way way way way way way way way way better than a whale buying up $1,000,000 worth of coins in 1 day.

Oh, I didn't noticed that. I'm sure it will be enabled for everyone soon.

I think missing link to Linux wallet is not a big issue, everyone can find link to Github in ANN post. Issue about missing Mac wallet got lost in chain, blake notified me, I notified Tim and Tim didn't do anything. Nobody complained since, so I thought it has been resolved.

Sorry if it feels like I'm giving you a hard time. But, now is such a unique moment and I'm not sure if there will be another wave of interest like the one we are seeing now…even if it's because of another coin. You only get one chance to make a first impression. CANN is doing great. CCN seems to be doing well enough. I just don't want THC to get lost in the shuffle.

For those interested in MJ related coins, CannabisCoin is currently on the rise by allowing direct exchange of coins for product:

You are able to use it fully. Just some experimental features that 99% of people wouldn't use anyway are not available to everyone. Blockchain.info doesn't let you use experimental features either.

I wouldn't characterize "RECEIVE" as an experimental feature.

Yes, anyone can compile the Linux wallet. But why have a link that goes nowhere on the homepage for the coin? And, the missing Mac wallet has been known for at least a month -- http://www.reddit.com/r/thehempcoin/comments/2gsgxc/why_no_mac_or_linux_wallet_and_cloud_wallet/

Linux wallet ? yes there is, my pool is running on it. Mac wallet, I can't confirm since I am anti-mac.  As far as I know, you don't need a special invite to use the HTML wallet, I think he locked it at one point when it went viral and he was giving out a lot of coins( fartbags can confirm here).  stable pools has been a problem in the past I admit, that's why we got one setup recently.

Click on Linux and Mac wallets…no downloads -- http://hempcoin.org/index.php/wallets/download-wallet

And the idea of getting permission from a forum moderator to fully use the online wallet is completely ridiculous. I don't doubt everyone's sincerity, but seriously, just shut it down until things work properly.

There is no Linux wallet. There is no Mac wallet. You need a special invite to send/receive from the HTML wallet. Up until recently there hasn't been a stable roster of pools to choose from.

These are things that should be ready on day one. Yet this is a coin that's "been around" for a long time. Why on earth would any reasonable person choose this over other coins in the space (Cannabiscoin, Cannacoin, etc)?

Everyone can compile Linux wallet themselves. https://github.com/hempcoin-project/THC
Mac wallet has been available for many months, but we lost that file while we were moving servers and nobody noticed until now. I'll get it from Tim and re-upload it.

There are many reasons to use HEMP, just to name few:

-stability = very stable network, nearly no problems
-community
-active development
-HTML5 wallet
-easy merchant implementation

Honestly, I haven't been following the other coins ( probably should be).  But we have a great hard working community here, anything you see hempcoin was built/developed without the need of bounties.  We have up front, honest and hard working Dev's that did not get any premine.

I can't compare us with the other coins, but I believe many "reasonable" people would or already have chosen Hempcoin as a part of their cryptofolio.

I am sure others can elaborate on the details more than myself.  If you have any other legitimate concerns with Hempcoin, ask away, we are more than happy to answer what we can.

thanks for your interest in Hempcoin.

The HTML5 Cloud wallet has the receiving feature disabled since it's the most costly feature to implement. If anyone would like it enabled they can ask on here. There will be multi-signature accounts available in the next upgrade. Everyone will be able to use that feature. Multi-sig accounts work by requiring multiple signatures to access funds. This way if they database or client get hacked the hacker would also require the users signature which isn't stored online. This is high security. No exchanges or altcoins currently use this method. Multi-sig wallets for bitcoin are still in beta mode.

Some reasons why THC is good:

- The Hemp Coin is a good community coin. Unlike other coins that are run like "wanna be companies", THC is a nice community project.

- Multiple "devs" working on the source code. Most altcoins have just 1 person working with the core code.

- The best block explorer of any POS+POW coin. Custom made by someone in the community. http://hempchain.info/

- POS+POW = dual security layers to prevent network attacks.

- Multiple source code managers. [HEMP] is someone else trying to manage the source code and provide alternative marketing. This is unique to most cryptocoins except the very largest ones. This will maintain integrity. If [THC] tries to change the code without community support or simply disappears, everyone can use the [HEMP] source code instead. You may also chose to use the [HEMP] source code instead of [THC] as [HEMP] claims to be using a more hemp friendly interface and marketing campaign in the future. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/hemp-hemp-coins-scrypt-powpos-800712

- https://hemp.cash is good. Lots of features are coming to improve awareness. With all the social features, I have noticed some hemp based companies/organizations/figures following hemp coins on google+, twitter and facebook. It's possible that hemp coin is the first coin that many people have owned since it connects to facebook for anyone to get coins through facebook. No installing anything.

- Block halving in about 4 months. Another one in 16 months. Anyone in now is an "early adopter".

Crypto is just getting started. I recommend getting a few coins from many different coins. If you get in early on a coin with $10 to $100, one of those coins in going to turn that into $100,000,000 in 5 years. Many others will turn that into $100,000.

The Hemp Coin is growing. It's doing well. Since crypto is new it's volatile in market pricing. You never know what the price will be short term. Maybe THC is 100 satoshi next week, maybe its 1000 satoshi. Long term the price is going to be way higher. Crypto is world changing. You don't want to miss out.

One reason CANN is doing so well is because its on cryptsy. We fedexed Cryptsy in January, sent many emails and opened several tickets over the months. Lets try again and shout out to cryptsy to get Hempcoin listed there. I just sent a ticket from the Hempcoin team.

Do you have any details on what we should do to get on cryptsy? There's a lot of money on cryptsy.
