I'm starting a new project.  I'd love feedback from anyone and everyone.   I'm not stopping hempcoin development or developing another coin, just starting a project that has been in my head for a while.  Something I feel the entire community needs.

See this thread for more: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/purifycryptocom-community-driven-trust-accountability-platform-755585

Best of luck brother. When you get big, you can tell everyone how great THC is Smiley Smiley

Does anyone want to start a fund to support hempcoin in the future? Right now is an excellent time to get some cheap investment into this fund and have it be worth a lot more in a month or two.

I am not sure how this would work yet. I just want a fund with a million+ hempcoins in it for the future.

I am in on this, I will donate 250,000 THC to the fund. How can we set this up, where will the fund wallet be hosted?

I think someone trusted who is trusted should manage the fund. I have seen you, kryptologist, on this forum lots and believe you would be a good manager for this project. It shouldn't be much work. Is there a way to require 4 people to all enter a code at the same time to get funds out of a wallet? Multiple keys to unlock the wallet would be a great solution for this to increase trust.

I do not see the fund being used much any time soon. Raising funds immediately at these crazy low prices at 35 satoshi is an excellent plan though. I see it as a way to raise a little bit of money and have that turn into a lot of money.

If you start a hemp coin foundation wallet I will donate money into it.

I meant to reply to this!   I will throw in 50k.  I wish it was more, I may be able to do more later.

I was going to recommend the same thing. I would trust any of you guys that have been putting energy into your projects or a combination of you guys, kryptologist, blakeaholics, fartbags..

I'll send coins when I see an address. Smiley

I am still interested in this idea. We can use the funds to grow hemp coin and take it to the next level.. I'm just not sure how to go about making the funds secure.

So this afternoon I printed off some of the Hempcoin paper wallets, from hempcoin.org.  I noticed that the public key is much longer than any key I have encountered before.  Then when I tried to send coins to the address from my qt-wallet it wont let me enter the full address I am trying to send coins to.  Has anyone else had a problem with the paper wallets?? Or maybe someone can point out what I am doing wrong.  Thanks in advance,
Dan

Hey,

Sorry about changing the paper wallet style from the style every other coin uses. The key on the front of the wallet is the private key. The public address is angled vertically beside it. I changed it so that it was smaller and used up less ink. I printed out a bunch of them to give away. I have better plans for the paper wallet but they haven't happened yet.

P.S.
If anyone wants to improve the paper wallet, I would be fine giving you the github account. The graphics on the paper wallet are really old now.

No need to apologize, I really appreciate that you, and others are working hard to make HempCoin more robust.  What I was actually referring to was the length of the actual "deposit key"; it is 51 characters long, which is longer than a Hemocoin public address appears to be allowed to be.  Basically it doesn't work for me.  There is no way to deposit to the address that were generated for me.

Am I doing something wrong?? how did you send coins to the paper wallets that you printed out to give away??

It took too long to send coins to all the paper wallets. Paper wallets are also difficulty for a normal person to import. The HTML5 wallet is going to handle promotions 100x better than the paper wallets.

Paper wallets are useful if you want to securely store coins.

I just tried out the paper wallet and can confirm it is working. It took a long time to importprivkey, like 5 minutes. It did work though.

Hello,
I stumbled across this coin, looking to mine and possibly invest.

One point I'd like to make, I don't care if it's been addressed in the past since it's still in the wallet:

OP states:
"We chose not to boast the hemp leaf as it has become synonymous with recreational cannabis smoking and not hemp as a product. Although the leaf symbolizes the liberty that we should have around the world (but are still not given, primarily within bank practices), we have created our own symbol for the movement. The symbol is meant to represent "THC" as a currency symbol."

But yet there are burning joints and potleafs in the wallet. I won't take this coin serious until that's fixed, and neither will the hemp industry. Can smoking pot be an underlying, unspoken theme? Sure! What hemp farmer doesn't smoke? But if Hempcoin is a business as all coins are, get rid of the schwag.

There is a new wallet coming out soon. I also hope all the smoking/drug images are gone.

Also, may want to follow WC whitecoin. They have filed to become a recognized entity in Canada, and that's where large amounts of hemp is grown in North America. India and China are the largest growers, but have fun getting adoption there. China may not be so hard, but you'd need a liason to the chinese community.

Great input, thanks for checking out hempcoin!  I'm not one of the coin devs but I'm an active part of the community development team.   We've been slowly trying to push further away from POT and try to keep focused on HEMP.  I think your point is valid and I really think HEMP and POT shouldn't have much to do with each other in this context.  Yeah sure, most hemp farmers probably smoke, but this coin is about hemp, not about medical or recreational smoking.  We've also been in talks to replace the THC symbol with HEMP.

You could use the potleaf, but in this respect.
Don't use that image, I posted it as an example. Could be copyrighted or something. I think that's the common Hemp industry logo, do a google search.

Basic public API access has been enabled on the Hempchain.

This will give you all easy access to realtime JSON/XML information for the following items without having to load a wallet on your host.

  • Block Height
  • Money Supply
  • Mining Difficulty
  • USD Market Cap
  • BTC Market Cap
  • Extras: Currency, Currency Short Code & Hashrate Unit (MH/s, GH/s, etc..)

For more information and code examples please see: http://beta.hempchain.info/api/

YES!!! amazing my man. I'm going to try this out soon Smiley very useful for future developments for the hempcoin community. Gives us the tools we need. This is big. Thank you.

I hope it comes in handy.  I'll be adding more features.  As I add them I may need to add authentication.  Some functions like checking balances are pretty resource intensive when they hit an address that has 10k+ transactions associated.  I'll most likely keep /getinfo open unless it starts getting hammered on too much.

Did I mention I HATE balances because they are so psuedo and meaningless for the most part?? lol

If there's a feature anyone needs to have quick access to, please let me know!
