When the fork happens, I'm pretty sure the old THC is gone and the new updated THC replaces it.  No freebies here.
The fork will bring attention, but what you do is up to you.  Nowadays these marijuana coins are becoming more and more valuable as legalization is passing.  Their price is not relatively dropping, at all.  You may want to try to scalp a short pump if you are a recent entry and feel the need to greed, but long term hodlers who bought sub $0.05 should stay put and keep riding the ride  Cool

What are peoples opinions on what will happen leading up to and after the hard fork?

Do we know if the old/current blockchain is going to become obselete? As in is the current version of Hempcoin still going to be tradeable after the fork?

What are peoples plans for the lead up? Thinking that it will attract alot of attention and speculation to the coin (definately a good thing) but probably create an artificial pump, subsequent ATH and afterwards probably see a big dump as the market cap is still pretty small and open to manipulation to a degree.

Do we think the plan would be to buy up now and dump after the fork, then buy back on the dip with a much bigger bag? Or HODL???

Just trying to figure out where everyone sits and try figure out my strategy  Cool

To anyone having issues downloading the chain on the core wallet:

If doing a fresh install on Windows 7 computer; I assume it would be similar for a few older and a few newer versions:

Step 1 - Make hempcoin.conf.  Open a notepad and save it with the name hempcoin.conf
Make sure it is NOTEPAD!!
Go to the first page of this thread and get the nodes, paste those nodes in this file and save it.

Step 2 - If from a failed attempt to install, make sure you deleted the whole hempcoin folder in username/appdata/roaming
To finish with the .conf file, you need to allow your computer to let you change file extensions.
Also, allow you computer you let you see hidden files and folders in folder options; grade school computer skills.
Hit the windows key and type in "file x" as well as "hidden" for a quick access to do those changes.
Don't forget to undo the previous steps once done, to return to your regular, safer settings.

Step 3 - When you saved the file in step 1, you essentially made hempcoin.conf.txt
Once you've allowed to change the extensions, do a slow two click on the file to rename it; remove the .txt and you got a perfectly working .conf file!
Alternatively, if you don't know how to two-click, right click the file chose rename.
Alternatively, open the file's properties and change it there.

Step 4 - Cut the file and paste it in the roaming folder.
If you have set your computer to let you see hidden files and folders, simply click on the windows icon, click on your username, then you will see a faded appdata folder, then click on roaming.  You should see your hempcoin folder in there.  Click on the hempcoin folder and do a ctrl-v or right click - then paste.

Step 5 - Install as an admin and allow for public networks once prompted.
You may get an error when installing which will cause a CTD but try it again as an admin.
It should work for some reason, happened to me a few times; if anything will break, leave it to me to break it without even trying.
Trust me, it wasn't working otherwise on another computer without allowing public networks.
If you trust your own computer's security, this shouldn't be an issue.  I use a standalone computer for staking coins; only connects to stake and transact.

This should work with any coin's core wallet to which you are having difficulty establishing a connection to; though each have their own nodes and .conf files.
I do not use nor do I endorse web wallet for anything..... ever.
This fix worked on 2 separate computers running a fully updated Windows 7 SP1.

Downloading a full core wallet is like climbing to the top of a mountain, it sucks to do but once you done it, you feel like you accomplished something worthwhile.

All the best, hope this works, even if for just one person, it's worth it.

Does somebody know how long coins have to mature in your wallet before they begin to stake? I'm over 28 hours and no sign of staking.

Congrats to all the THC holders and folks that have been here from the beginning. I have worked tirelessly to make $THC great again.

A lot of things are coming up. I have several different teams working on different parts of HempCoin. All of our news will be presented on twitter @thehempcoin. The new website will not be active until the new wallet and fork are in place. The new fork is basically exactly like DASH anonymous coding in all aspects including a masternode/HempPAY/darksend coin with Windows, Mac, Linux, and source. This is a fork so all coins will automatically be in the new wallet. Specs will be released on twitter. This all takes time to get t right. Be patient and this will continue to be Epic.

THC has taken over the top marijuana coin spot which is amazing. This is very popular with Japan,China and all of Asia. We have lots of other news to push out pertaining to agriculture as well as dispenary platforms. I’m not on BCT often  but can be reached on twitter. We will also have a telegraph soon.  All the positive tweets will help. Also after the fork (because the exchanges won’t make a new coin twice in a month) we will be pushing for more top exchanges and will call on the community to help.

As most of you know I am not a major THC holder. I started this as a community coin and stepped away November 2014. It wasn’t until April this year that folks started seeing value in THC. I am full time dedicated to THC and will do everything to make this a world leading top coin.

A teaser spec is 1 Masternode will require 20,000 coins.

Cheers!!

Tim

Bump for people who may have missed the dev's, Tim's, update.  Cool

Hello everyone and Happy New 2018!!

I have been reading about this project and I would love to buy some for the masternode. Does someone know how much the will be needed to run a masternode? I read it would be 10k or is it maybe 20k??

A page or two back a user stated that you need 20 000 thc for a masternode. Smiley gotta say i am tempted to invest a small percentage over to hempcoin

Im pretty certain its 10k for a masternode... At least i friggen hope so, because i bought 10k thinking that back when it was 10 cents.. it better not be 20k
Sad

I hope that the master node needs somewhere in the range of 10k~50k THC to start up a master node. Looking forward to the update.

A couple pages back in big blue writing the dev stated 20,000 THC for one masternode.  He gave some other info concerning the coin as well.  The colored font makes it really easy to spot. I'm trying to go for 3 masternodes  Cool

well not sure if anyone can help I guess for half of my THC wallet.

Still cant sweep my THC paper wallet into the WIN wallet (hcwin32.exe) v 2.0.0.1  and its fully in SYNC.

I tried the Debug console:

importprivkey myprivatekeyhere label

and I keep getting:  Error adding key to wallet (code 4)

Check the blockchain and the coins are there under my public address:
HDAoXLvUhvS9Pi3mmAs646fLxrRS1tpvxX

i think my issue is the Private Key, starts with 6d and is 51 characters and seems to not be recognized?Huh

I made my paperwallet back in Oct from this site:

http://hempcoin-paper-wallet.github.io/hempcoin-paper-wallet/

Does anyone know what the issue is?  anyone who helps gets HALF of my 2400 THC coins!!

I also sent an email to: Wallet Recovery Services who people say helps with wallet issues for a fee.. but haven't heard back yet.

Maybe a developer is on this thread and can solve my issue.

My paper wallet from Oct has 2400 coins.... i'm willing to share to who can help me fix this.

I have been working at this for wks on and off and cant seem to figure out the issue.   I gather 51 Characters are WIF format that starts with a 6 like mine?

I put my Private key 6d in a text file and import option in the THC Win wallet and nothing happens.

anyone? help?

Did you download the Win wallet from their site? any issues?

I for the life of me cant get my paper wallet imported to the Win wallet after it is all Synced up.

i have a paper wallet made from here:
http://hempcoin-paper-wallet.github.io/hempcoin-paper-wallet/

Starts with 6d for a private key and when I use the option Wallet Details it gives me an invalid Private Key... Huh anyone have ideas?

My public address:
HDAoXLvUhvS9Pi3mmAs646fLxrRS1tpvxX

Shows the transaction sitting on the blockchain!

Is my Private Key starting with 6d (51 characters) my issue why i cant import it to the Win THC wallet???

Installing wallet for the first time. Is there a bootstrap download available?

The OP is a 404 link for the Windows wallets.

hempcoin.org has a single download link to what appears to be a 32bit wallet.
hcwin32.exe   26.3 MB (27,632,640 bytes)     MD5  D6FDCBD5E6F8A6C59A73504458B91876
- This download simply crashes for me when trying to run it.

Being skeptical, I decide to look at the github.  It has yet another set of files and hashes.
https://github.com/hempcoin-project/THC/releases
v2.0.1.0

hempcoin-qt-2.0.1-32bit  26.3 MB (27,638,784 bytes)  MD5 CFDAC93F66A68883B769CEFD7CC363A0
hempcoin-qt-2.0.1-64bit  25.0 MB (26,306,048 bytes)  MD5 A1B5CDE96038C6F621FA0E88278E7216

What gives?

Would be nice if the official site has a real downloadable link and hash information, etc.

I don't understand why my hempcoinwallet is mining all the time like stupid, but i found each time in the transaction history always just this message:

"Unconfirmed (0 out of 6 confirmations) Generated but not accepted Mined" so that it never really mines anything.
So this kind of mining makes no sense. Why does it not really mine ? Have i to change a setting of the wallet so that it can really mine ?

It can be possible that your wallet is on a false chain? I dont know watch if your block hash is the same as the one in the block explorer

@PowerHemp  Thanks! This helped. Yes, i was at the wrong chain. Now my wallet is syncronized. I'm up to date with it.

I'm trying now not to use this software hempcoin wallet anymore. I don't see any advantage in this anymore.
1. This wallet obviously consumes my battery power supply. I have to charge the battery of my laptop more often.
2. When i look at my balance this wallet hasn't earned (mined) any further hempcoins  (except a very small amount of THC's on the 05.08.2017).
But my wallet was on air and working until the end of august 2017, before AntiVir killed my wallet and deposited into the quarantine folder.

I understand that my wallet could not mine anything anymore in the period of september until end of december 2017.
But during august it could have mined anything. But it didn't.

So i want to park my THC's in several paper wallets. Does anyone know a page i can use to sweep my THC's later to an exchange or my software wallet ? I probably won't use a software wallet, because you see your actual balance only after the synchronization has finished. The synchronization took me
a couple of days now. I don't want to repeat this in the future again. I'd just want this to work easily and fast. So sweeping the funds from the paper wallet to an exchange could be the best solution. But for this sweeping you need a page (who has programmed this) where you can fill in the number of THC's and your private key of this paper wallet. Does anybody know such a secure page for THC's ?

Is there any working explorers for this coin?

Is 2.0.1 the latest wallet?

Also what block are you guys on?

this one works great https://www.blockexperts.com/thc

THC needs to get on https://chainz.cryptoid.info after the fork. Blockexperts often falls behind or something weird where it isn't up to date 100% of the time. cryptoid is the best. They have a forum post here if you want to let them know
