cant mine on nvc port 3344

I had the same problem before. Flound advised me to connect to stratum+tcp://pool1.us.multipool.in:3344 the new load-balanced server. Works good. I'm on it currently.

A few more observations:

1) NVC block stats for 30446 and 30464 still showing blank.
2) NVC block stats for 30244 and 30246 showing double. In case of payment errors might want to check it out.
3) The multiport stats page, your left google banner is cut-off in half.

Prior to testing 7777 now, I was testing Argentum, Lucky and Phenix. Still waiting on Lucky but I find that, for similar amount of time (a few hours each on a 7970), I got 145 Phenix but only 1 Argentum although it says Phenix and Argentum are about the same BTC value. Any explanation for that other than an incredible mismatch of difficulties? Or was it because I was just about the only one mining Argentum in the pool at the time?

Otherwise, 7777 looks good, just sitting on LTC for now.

Can't connect to nvc pool again  Huh

The pool is up, can you let me know what error you are getting?

Using two different miners: pooler cpuminer error says  "stratrum_subscribe timed out" and stratum_proxy.exe that I'm using can't seem to subscribe for mining jobs.

Can you try pointing to pool1.us and let me know what happens?

Currently connected and running fine. Should I connect to this from here on out?

Please do and let me know how things go.

Hi flound1129, so far on the nvc port everything is well. The multiport switched over to nvc and my miners still up and running good.

But I noticed the stats page for nvc blocks 30244, 30246, 30446 and 30464 reports nothing (blank). Maybe a bug there.

Good spot, I've gone in and rerun scoring on those blocks.

Turns out I was testing phenix. Got 145 (unconfirmed) with my ailing 7970. Now for the Argentum spike for real. Looks like no one is testing Argentum yet.

Hm, where'd the server go? Adding new coins to multiport? Wink

I don't need to bring the server down for that..  intentionally...  Smiley

with this recent influx of added coins and I'm presuming future coins if it means more profit I was wondering if you were going to add a feature where we can pick which coins to mine?

It's in the works.

I can't find the list of different coins supported in multiport mode.

Currently all of the scrypt coins other than PXC, ARG and LKY are on the multiport.

That means LTC, FTC, MNC, DGC, WDC, NVC

Edit: added this information to the multiport stats page.

All new coin blocks that have been found so far have been scored.

I initially set confirms to 520 for all 3 so I could work out any issues before payouts happened and things got messy.

I have reduce LKY confirmations to 90 which appears to be the correct number for the coin, and ARG to 40.  I couldn't find that info anywhere.

PXC is still at 520, however, until the block we found matures.

XXXVII Fnord is toast without bread
Lucky coin added. I mined for 3.5 hours and found a block for pool yet no unconfirmed balance or confirmed balance payouts? My shares per round was at 110K but NO PAYOUT?

That's why we call it beta bro.  Don't worry, the blocks that were found will be paid out.  I was up until 4 am last night working on the pool and had some family business to take care of today.

I understood it was beta, I also understand that family comes first.

Thanks for your quick response and your hard work.

Flound,
Maybe you can stop adding new coins of the minute to the pool and just keep what works maintained. I do appreciate what you have done and do although I cannot understand the coin hopping so much. Seems to go against what the network is supposed to be doing but that's just my opinion (salt grain). Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should or have to.

I'm not sure yet what the whole time payout thing is vs previous PPLNS scheme but it seems like you are trying to get the payout equalized(fair?) for those that are coin hopping all day vs those that are dedicated to one coin mining? I would appreciate a little more explanation if you can please as to how this is better now?

Thanks!
T.

Hi Torn,

The time payout is still a PPLNS, it's just based on time rather than a specific share number.

I'm doing this to keep things fair to both the dedicated coin miners and the multiport miners.  I don't think that the multiport miners should keep getting paid for shares that they submitted hours and hours after they hopped off a coin, when the people mining that coin directly find another block.  Likewise, I think that if someone mines for 6 hours, they should be expecting some kind of payout if a block is found in the next 24 hours and not get completely shafted and have their shares fall out of the Last N because the multiport switched to that pool and quadrupled the hashrate.

Likewise, the multiport miners should not have to wait an inordinate amount of time to start receiving a decent payout once they switch to a new coin.

I know it's not a perfect system and I will probably switch to something more fair like DGM, once I have investigated the alternatives and implemented an algorithm.

As far as the adding new coins: people want them, they're highly profitable, at times, and this pool is all about maximizing profitability by hopping to the coin that has the highest profitability.  Coin hopping is going to happen whether Multipool exists or not.  There are already client-side applications built to do the same thing.  I just make it easier for people.  Don't hate the player, hate the game.
